you say 'most recent date of admission west of the Mississippi', but the states you list as answers are all east of the mississippi

Oon the "most recent date of admission", you omit a lot of western states that were admitted more recently than Iowa -- Oklahoma, Arizona, New Mexico, Alaska, and Hawaii, to name a few.
