Brilliant idea! I suck at art so I love this opportunity to fill at least some of the gaps in my knowledge. I hope this becomes a series (not necessarily just paintings but other types of art as well, except for songs and movies which are everpresent)

Most of these artists have very distinct styles so even if (for example) you'd never seen a painting by Hopper or Rothko before you'd probably be able to guess it was by them from the style.

I know Rembrandt is known for his first name but since you have everybody's full name on here why not change it to Rembrandt van Rijn?

I worked in the National Gallery of Art in the 1990s for about $8 an hour in the gift shop in DC as a stock clerk and learned art history there. It houses the only da Vinci in the western hemisphere and several other masterpieces. It was quite a Slumdog Millionaire education.
