I'm flabbergasted that West Virginia is the #1 answer... maybe because I'm from Virginia and people from Virginia tend to have strong opinions about West Virginia... perhaps the rest of the country just knows nothing about the state.

The rest of the list seems fairly predictable to me though I'm very surprised that places like Kansas and Idaho managed to edge out Delaware. Perhaps Delaware got a bump recently for being home to Joe Biden; but they were the first thing that came to mind when I tried to think of states that people would have no opinion on or that were wholly unremarkable.

Yeah, I never would have guessed West Virginia. I always hear people making fun of it. I am from Pennsylvania though, maybe people farther away from West Virginia know less about it.

The Biden thing, maybe, but it dates back to 2018, so that would actually surprise me. I'm having a lot of fun seeing that unremarkableness can generate so much arousal!

West Virginia definitely deserves to be #1, it's the only one I forgot about!
