- The use of "nobleman" and "politician" is confusing when it comes to monarchs. I would understand if figureheads were considered noblemen, and actual heads of government would be considered politicians. But that can't explain why Elizabeth I is labelled as a politician, but her father, Henry VIII, is a nobleman.
