Tennessee Titans? Didn't realize the Coyotes changed their name from Phoenix to Arizona. Glad I looked it up before making myself look like an idiot.

Tampa Bay Rays? That's the only team I know named after a bay.

Good point. However, since the quiz does state that these are teams that don't include the name of cities, and Tampa is a city, Tampa Bay teams (Rays and Bucs) would not count. However, if I slightly change the quiz title to "US sports teams not named after a city", it would definitely make it less ambiguous, and the Tampa Bay teams could easily be included.

I disagree with you the Tampa Bay teams are not named after the city it is named after the body of water in the area not Tampa the city itself. Hence why all but the Buccaneers play in another city near Tampa. The city is not called Tampa Bay it is called Tampa which happens to be on Tampa Bay, the body of water. All the sports teams play in a city that is connected to Tampa Bay, the body of water not Tampa, the city itself. So none of the sports teams are named after Tampa the city but Tampa Bay the body of water that dominates the metro landscape.

What a bunch of nitpickers! Tampa Bay isn't the name of a city, but Tampa is. Why is that not good enough for some of you?

Brooklyn is a borough, and used to be a city. Also not good enough?

I would have to say the New York teams (Yankees, Mets, Knicks, Rangers, Islanders, Giants, Jets) they are located in/near the city but they are not the NYC whatever.

The Brooklyn Nets play in Brooklyn, shouldn't that not count on this quiz?

Don't think Brooklyn counts as a city

Nope, Brooklyn is a borough of NYC. Not a city unto itself.
