I understand the confusion, but the 'rings' are not really considered 'classic literature' in the same sense as 'flies' is.

A bit heavy on the Shakespeare there. There is a vast amount of literature. 4 Shakespeare plays is too excessive.

And what's worse, "gray" isn't accepted instead of "grey" even though it normally is (even when wrong).

A very good quiz! I love the three Musketeers, but got terribly stuck on them - I think many would agree with me that both Chekhov's Three Sisters and Remarque's Three Comrades could be safely characterised as classics
