It was South Yemen that was communist, not North Yemen

Correct. In addition, the Democratic Republic of the Congo was never communist; that was the Republic of the Congo (then known as the People's Republic of the Congo).

needs a bit more time (takes me that long to spell Kyrgyzstan !

Also can you accept Czechia for Czech Republic and DDR for East Germany
