You should accept Persia and Ottoman Empire; the actual names at that time.

You are correct, In my haste to copy and paste I did not even think why Turkey showed up on this list before 1900s. I will change this answer to Ottomans and leave turkey as an acceptable write in. I will also change Iran to Persia and add write ins of Iran and Qajar Dynasty.

I don't know how you based this quiz. I looked at your source and it only shows when the US recognized countries, not the other way around as the title states.
