I'm more used to those spellings too, but I believe this is the more common spelling in American English. The 'oe'-forms should be accepted though! And thanks for taking the time to play and comment on the quizzes!

Erythropoetin should be accepted for hormone that increases red blood cells vs. just EPO.

Agree, kept retyping erythropoetin thinking I must have spelled it incorrectly before realising that the abbreviation was what was wanted!

All I could think for eardrum was "tympanic membrane" and then decided it must be called something else in the UK.
