Cyprus is in Europe according to the E.U.'s official site.

It's in Europe, and is culturally claimed by a European countries (Yeah Turkey's half and half but whatever) and geographically it's considered both I believe.

Also Australia is in there because it is a member (or partner?) of the European Broadcasting Union. Israel is there because culturally the music is similar and also, good relations with the EBU. I don't know about Azerbaijan and Georgia but I assume it's something similar.

I really like these blank map quizzes. As for the countries that straddle two different continents. There will never total agreement. As for this site they place Russia in Europe and Turkey and Cyprus in Asia. Get over it already.

Actually opinions do matter. The exact borders of Europe, Asia and Africa have no basis in objective fact and are effectively social or cultural constructs. The concept of "Asia" is especially one that has zero connection to reality except for where people like to draw lines. And here Turkey is considered an Asian country, even though some of it is considered to be in Europe.

TWM03: I agree with you concerning Europe and Asia; they are artificial constructs. However, Africa is definitely separated from Asia by the Red Sea and Sinai Peninsula.

So objectively why is Malta not in Africa (or is it)? Or if you are just talking about the continent itself and not which islands should be included, where exactly is the land border between Africa and Asia? It is generally taken to be the Suez canal, but the concepts of Africa and Asia predate the canal. The Sinai Peninsula is quite poorly defined, as are all peninsulas - where exactly are its borders and why? That said, I kind of agree that considering Africa a separate continent makes some sense, but no more than considering North and South America separate and drawing some sort of border between them.

Need to add Turkey (Thracia). Either that or eliminate Russia!! Turkey's largest city Istanbul is in Europe and much of its culture lies there. It is so unfair to have Russia as Europe and Turkey not!

I wish these empty map quizzes would have more defined borders like the quizzes where the map is already present. Wouldn’t make it any easier, just a personal aesthetic preference. I think it would look much better.

Don't confuse EU with Europe, but to be in the EU you must be in the European continent. Cyprus is in Europe, as is a part of Turkey. If one is to count Russia, which straddles both continents and mainly in Asia, one has to count Turkey also btw.
