Nice idea! I missed all the small ones next to Sardinia. I think the Venice islands are missing, at least technically I think they are considered islands (see http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isole_d%27Italia_per_popolazione)

How interesting! My source was this list on the English Wikipedia but it looks like it was missing quite a few compared with the list you've provided.

There is an island, but the question is whether the population figures are correct, as they refer to the entire city while only the historical centre is on the island.
