Which reminds me of an argument I had with a girlfriend once. I said "but you never said that!" to which she instantly replied "I did say it, I just didn't verbalize it!"

I would offer that someone could be invited but not come, therefore not be a guest, or show up unannounced, and become a guest, but not have been invited.
