Bereg Slonovoy Kosti is not called like this anymore. It used to be named like that, but now it's an English (or French, whatever) transliteration.

Кот-д’Ивуар is a transliteration of the French Côte d'Ivoire.

It's much more common to call the UK "Великобритания" (Velikobritaniya, e.g. Great Britain). Never heard anyone say "Ob'yedinennoye Korolevstvo".
