Countries with the Most Metal Bands

What's the deal with the numbers being all mixed up? P.s. fun quiz ;)

I was bored to guess any European country, so i missed Malta in the end....

There's no way the Vatican doesn't have a heavy metal band. The country is run by a freakin' Pontifex, which has to be the name of some band somewhere

Just missed Liechtenstein! I can't even believe that they made it!

I'm also disappointed that the Vatican doesn't make it at least per capita. Sweden was my first guess. Have a friend who spent a lot of time in a band that played Swedish-style death metal.

Awesome quiz! For those who haven't seen Sam Dunn's metal documentaries, please allow me to recommend the hell out of them. 'Metal: A Headbanger's Journey' and 'Global Metal' are both great.

I know absolutely nothing about heavy metal and still managed to get 23/26. I suppose this explains why that is only worth 3 points.

When I was preparing my resume for a law school job fair, my school's career advisor told me to include some personal interests and get creative with it, as a good way to spark conversation during interviews. I listed that I play guitar in a band, and put my job position as "Shreditor-in-chief." A partner from an elite New York firm interviewed me and spent the whole 20 minutes asking me to explain the reference to her, because she initially thought it was a typo. She never got the joke, and I never got the job. It was totally worth it though. The next guy that interviewed me was really into metal, and we talked forever. Then he hired me and I stayed there for four years. \\m//

Missed Luxembourg

This figures don't mean anything. They forget all the garage bands, and there are so many.

Only missed Iceland and Malta... I would have gotten Iceland if I hadn't given up, but Malta would never have happened.

Having seen the famous map a few times helped. Chile was fortunately missing on both lists, so with a bit of maths it was easy to narrow down the countries.

Did you intend to 14.00 for the per capita for Chile or is Chile just misplaced in the per capita order?

Surprised Austria wasn't in the "total" column. Guess their small population doesn't add up to as many bands. But they did make the per capita.

Liechtenstein is so small that one metal band can probably be heard across the entire country when they play.

Seems like a missed opportunity for Bangladesh not to be on the list. BANGLADESH sounds like a sweet metal name.

Would be cool to see it updated. I did a dumb and didn't check if someone had already made their own version of this exact quiz until after I'd finished compiling the list, and based on what I have, Canada, Switzerland, and Hungary have overtaken Luxembourg on per capita rankings, and Canada and Russia have both overtaken Sweden on total bands, among other changes.

Fun quiz! Just one note: I think that the "P" in JetPunk in the second caveat should be capitalized.
