The 108 Stars of Destiny of Suikoden II by Picture

Following the modest success of the first Gensōsuikoden (known simply as Suikoden outside of Japan) game, Konami green-lit a second installment, to be once again led by Yoshitaka Murayama. Released in December of '98 in Japan and September of '99 in North America (three years after the first game) Suikoden II takes place (in-game) seven years later. Suikoden II follows a new main character, joined by some returning characters and even more new characters, takes players to new (albeit mentioned in the first game), but nearby countries as a heartwrenching tale of struggle and friendship unfolds. Long since lauded as the crown jewel of the series, Suikoden II has earned a place as one of the finest JRPGs to be made outside of Square Enix's libraries. In September of '24, Konami announced that the first two games in the series would be re-released in HD, and with that, came a remastered set of in-game character portraits.
