People pay to get theirs featured on premium accounts and can simply steal other people's obscure quizzes on unknown accounts.

Excuse me? I didn't steal or pay for anything. Originally, this quiz looked quite different but it was too difficult so QM simplified it. Neither of us noticed that by doing so, it ends up the same as the aforementioned quiz. There was no bad intention on anybody's part.

It is unfortunate that France was not accepted for the Franc.

Because we don’t use Franc since 20 years. It’s like lira and Italy

"Because we haven't used the franc for 20 years" or "Because we haven't used the franc since 1999" to slightly correct the English there, although of course what Gebb said is instantly understandable.

"Name a country who uses an official currency with that name." It doesn't say anything about issuing currency in there. If that were the case, Ecuador, El Salvador, and Palau wouldn't count for "Dollar."

Króna/krona/krone shouldn't be merged as it opens a can of worms - koruna, rial/riyal, rupee etc.

Are countries like El Salvador or CAR really using Bitcoin? I highly doubt most people in the CAR, a country where only 3.5% of people have internet access (according to Wikipedia), have heard of Bitcoin, let alone used it.

I was interested in this as well so I looked it up. For both countries it is an official 2nd currency by political decision. Supposedly a third of the population of El Salvador used it 3 weeks after its implementation in mid 2021 but a year later had hardly and usage because people only used the start capital they got in the official cyberwallet app and the countries plans to mine coins themselves hasn't come through. As for CAR there's not a lot of info, the implementation is still quite recent. According to Wikipedia about every 10th person has access to the internet.

The policy of CAR adopting Bitcoin is obviously silly given 85%+ of the country has no internet access.

The real reason they announced bitcoin as an official was for political reasons to reduce their dependence on the CFA Franc and its colonial heritage. However, the CAR is also importantly using bitcoin to pay for Russia and Wagner troops, and bitcoin payments cannot be traced for fees/taxes purposes. It allows them in short to basically avoid IMF, French and African/European Central banks regulations and fees.

Let me be so for real rn, we barely use Bitcoin here in El Salvador. There’s an app called “Chivo-wallet” which lets you change USD to Bitcoin, which supposedly is helpful for small businesses to accept Bitcoin, but a lot of people don’t have phones or internet access to its a bit difficult. Also what’s the point? It’s pretty useless to the average person

Yuan/Yuen/won are essentially the same unit of currency. They are cognates from Chinese characters(hanzi in china, hanjia of Korea and Kanji in Japan)圆. The different romanisations reflect the different pronunciations of Chinese characters in the three languages

Confusing decisions about grouping currencies here. Krona/krone grouped (but not koruna), countries using "rial" (e.g. Oman) not accepted for "riyal". Why make a distinction between riyal/real, yen/yuan, rupee/rupiah but none for krona/krone?
