not sure where yiddish comes in... and it's really Oranje, not Orange, that is the translation.

didn't know Z or M, not bad for a ex-dutchie.

I imagine the "yiddish" answer is due to the lack of "y" in dutch words.

It's "Oranje Nassau", not orange nassau. And is that Joop's real last name, Zoetemelk? -

Also, the correct name of the former currency is "gulden". I'm quite surprised that no attempt was made to anglicize Maastricht, Rotterdam or Amsterdam.

They have been anglicised: they're said with English phonemes, not Dutch ones.

Technically, Nederlands-Indië was a former colony, not Indonesia.
