I understand the latter, but seriously? Joe DiMaggio? I mean I have no clue who Ayrton Senna is, but most English speakers know Joe DiMaggio

Well I mean, it's not just an American thing. He's been referenced in movies, famous songs (Mrs. Robinson), et. al. It's just surprising to me

And my first thought was "Joe or Dom?" Which makes sense only if you are a Red Sox fan.

And to be impossibly picky, it's worth noting that Woods' first name (on his birth certificate at least) is Eldrick and Gehrig's first name was Heinrich (later changed to Henry). I actually tried Eldrick to see whether you were trying to snare the unwary.

Also never heard of Tebow and he was my only miss, though I had to think for a bit before remembering Comaneci was Nadia, not Olga. DiMaggio I knew from Simon and Garfunkle.

Are you guys kidding with the who is Ayrton Senna questions? Three times Formula 1 champion, appraised by many people as the best pilot ever and very charismatic. Died in an accident during the San Marino Grand Prix in 1994.

And to most of the brazilians, their biggest idol (bigger than Pelé).

Please accept 'Odell' for Beckham, and 'Ryan' for Kerrigan. That's what came to mind when I first saw them.

In that case surely we must allow slow left arm spinner Simon Kerrigan who played one test match for England in the 2013 Ashes series for no wickets

Got 21/24, never heard of Tebow, Kerrigan and Nicklaus. I also guessed Di Maggio because I heared that name and Gehrig because of the disease, but I have no clue which sport they played.

Nicklaus is one of the greatest golfers of all time, although his name isn't mentioned too often these days.

I tried Neil for Armstrong, it took me five seconds to realize my mistake.

Tried Kris for Bryant and Ryan for Kerrigan -- since there's no other guidance suggesting those are wrong, I think those should be accepted as correct answers.
