Toads live most of their lives on dry land, only returning to ponds to breed. Frogs live in ponds. Dry land amphibian would make more sense to me as a clue for toad.

I found this to be very difficult. I was able to get all the clued words, but unscrambling them was pretty much impossible.

Attics in New England were places you could stand up in until people started living in modern sheetrock boxes. Surely you've seen movies with people sitting down going through things in the attic. Anne Frank's family lived in one.
