What Happened
Yesterday, I posted a blog that calculated the probabilities of getting a spotlight award on JetPunk. However, it was met with negative reception with people suggesting that I was trying to get ahead of KiloNova's work. Even Kilo himself said in a comment that he was going to delete his earlier thread about spotlight probabilities. All this is making me feel that I owe a sincere apology to everyone concerned, and that there is an urgent need to clarify my true intentions.
Why I Posted the Blog
In case you didn't know, Kilo posted on the MB around December 2nd the chances of spotlight awards that he calculated himself. However, not long after he made the post, the numbers were gone.
I expected that he would fix his post as soon as possible. Around a week later, seeing no fix, I commented on that thread asking him whether he still wanted to fix the thread, to which there was no reply. At this point I was already thinking about doing such a blog, but I thought he might still be trying to bring back the numbers, so out of respect I decided to keep waiting and give him some more time.
Another week or so passed and the numbers still weren't there. So I assumed that he was no longer intending to bring back the numbers, and I decided to bring them back myself in the form of a blog so that the JetPunk community could see them.
By making that blog, I absolutely did not mean to offend anyone or "get ahead" of anyone else's work. The true intention behind that blog was to bring back the lost numbers for the benefit of the JetPunk community, rather than offense or personal gains of any sort.
Apology
I sincerely apologize if I was wrong and Kilo was actually still working on fixing that thread or still intended to bring back his calculations, and I sincerely apologize for making him and other people feel offended with yesterday's blog. Don't get me wrong, I am genuinely feeling bad about it right now. I can see how people might feel offended by that blog, especially KiloNova who made the original MB thread, and in the future I will definitely be more careful and try to avoid things like this the best I can.
I hope I have made everything clear, and I hope you can understand. Thank you.
I feel like this issue was a miscommunication from both sides. You asked Kilo first, to which no reply, and waited. That was respectful and courteous, especially the whole 2 weeks.
While Kilo did not directly state in the post (I'm assuming) that he was still currently working, he did mention it a few times, one which can be seen in the bottom comments of this blog.
It has taken Kilo a bit of time, yet you only asked him once. When that one time didn't yield results, you waited... and didn't ring again, just went for it. There could have been many other ways to reach Kilo on this matter, and discuss it over.
Either way, I would recommend asking Kilo of his opinion on this, since it was his work which appeared to inspire yours.
