Message Board Recap - August 2025

Welcome to the 12th edition of "Message Board Recap"! Here's some (hopefully) interesting stats about the Message Board for the month of August 2025. This will be similar in format to MasterRocket's September 2024 blog (which I'm treating as the first edition), but not exactly the same.

- A total of 93 threads were made during the month of August 2025, giving an average of 3 threads per day.

- The day with the most threads was August 28, with 11 threads.

- The days with the fewest threads were August 18, 19 and 30, with no threads.

- A total of 50 unique users made at least one thread throughout the month, giving an average of 1.86 threads per user.

- Throughout the month, one user (MeMeMe333) made 7 threads, two users made 6 threads each, one user (Anonymousbear25) made 5 threads, three users made 4 threads each, and 43 made three or fewer threads each.

The top 6 thread creators made 32 threads in total, or 34.4% of all August 2025 threads.

- The day with the most likes was August 9, with 65 likes.

- The day with the most likes per thread was August 3, with 15 likes and a single thread, averaging 15 likes per thread.

The top 6 like-getters received 240 likes in total, or 45.5% of all August 2025 likes.

Now let's look at the top 10 most-liked Message Board threads (all thread titles are exactly as they appear):

Here are the top 10 users with the most total likes year-to-date (through August 31, 2025):

- All threads in August 2025 received 788 comments in total, giving an average of 25.4 comments per day, 8.47 comments per thread, and 15.8 comments per unique user.

- The day with the most comments was August 12, with 160 comments.

- The day with the most comments per thread was August 2, with 25 comments and a single thread, averaging 25 comments per thread.

The top 6 comment-getters received 428 comments in total, or 54.3% of all MB comments in August 2025.

Now let's look at the top 10 most commented threads (all thread titles are exactly as they appear):

Here's some other fun facts and stats that I think might be interesting.

The correct way to spell "JetPunk" is to either capitalize both the J and the P, or to capitalize neither. Here's a breakdown of how people did in thread titles:

✅ Both the J and the P were capitalized on 7 occasions;

❌ On another 2 occasions, the J was capitalized, but not the P.

Overall, "JetPunk" was correctly spelled on 7 out of 9 occasions, for a score of 78/100.

Here's a look into whether thread titles ended with a punctuation mark, and which ones:

- 35 threads (37.6%) ended in a question mark "?";

- 4 threads (4.3%) ended in a period / full stop ".";

- 3 threads (3.2%) ended in a right parenthesis ")";

- 1 thread (1.1%) ended in a double quotation mark (");

- 5 threads (5.4%) ended in an exclamation mark "!";

- 45 threads (48.4%) did not end in a punctuation mark.

1. Length of Thread Titles

Have you noticed that some threads have much longer titles than others? Here's a look into the length of thread titles:

- All MB thread titles in August 2025 contained 3,226 characters in total (including spaces), for an average of 34.7 chars per title.

- The thread with the longest title was "This post is to be read by Dimby only (but you can read it too)." by DarthKnight, with 64 chars in its title.

- The thread with the shortest title was "Stocks" by InfiniteBulk, with only 6 chars in its title.

2. Capitalization of Thread Titles

Even though they're technically "titles", not everyone on the MB adheres to Title Case in their thread titles. Here's a breakdown:

- 92 threads (98.9%) adhered to Sentence case by starting with a capital letter.

- Approximately 34 threads (36.6%) adhered to Title Case. Note that this is an "approximate" figure since there are slight variations in the exact rules of Title Case.
