Message Board Recap - December 2025

Welcome to the 16th edition of "Message Board Recap"! Here's some (hopefully) interesting stats about the Message Board for the month of December 2025. This will be similar in format to MasterRocket's September 2024 blog (which I'm treating as the first edition), but not exactly the same.

- A total of 147 threads were made during the month of December 2025, giving an average of 4.74 threads per day.

- The day with the most threads was December 8, with 9 threads.

- The days with the fewest threads were December 5, 11, 13 and 31, with 2 threads each.

- A total of 63 unique users made at least one thread throughout the month, giving an average of 2.33 threads per user.

- Throughout the month, two users made 10 threads each, one user (akjlddkjslfsd) made 8 threads, two users made 7 threads each, two users made 6 threads each, and 56 made five or fewer threads each.

The top 6 thread creators made 48 threads in total, or 32.7% of all December 2025 threads.

- All threads in December 2025 were liked 885 times in total, giving an average of 28.5 likes per day, 6.02 likes per thread, and 14.0 likes per unique user.

- The day with the most likes was December 10, with 74 likes.

- The day with the most likes per thread was December 25, with 65 likes and 4 threads, averaging 16.3 likes per thread.

(Non-exact figures are rounded to one decimal place)

The top 6 like-getters received 332 likes in total, or 37.5% of all December 2025 likes.

Now let's look at the top 10 most-liked Message Board threads (all thread titles are exactly as they appear):

As we've reached the end of the year, year-to-date likes stats will not be present in this blog. However, they will be included in the special MB review blog coming soon, where you'll find the top 20 most-liked users of 2025!

- All threads in December 2025 received 1,764 comments in total, giving an average of 56.9 comments per day, 12 comments per thread, and 28 comments per unique user. (two exact figures... wow!)

- The days with the most comments were December 17 and 29, with 131 comments each.

- The day with the most comments per thread was December 11, with 67 comments and 2 threads, averaging 33.5 comments per thread.

The top 6 comment-getters received 679 comments in total, or 38.5% of all MB comments in December 2025.

Now let's look at the top 10 most commented threads (all thread titles are exactly as they appear):

As we've reached the end of the year, year-to-date comments stats will not be present in this blog. However, they will be included in the special MB review blog coming soon, where you'll find the top 20 most-commented users of 2025!

Here's some other fun facts and stats that I think might be interesting.

The correct way to spell "JetPunk" is to either capitalize both the J and the P, or to capitalize neither. Here's a breakdown of how people did in thread titles:

✅ Both the J and the P were capitalized on 12 occasions;

✅ Neither the J nor the P was capitalized on 1 occasion;

❌ On another 1 occasion, the J was capitalized, but not the P.

Overall, "JetPunk" was correctly spelled on 13 out of 14 occasions, for a score of 93/100.

Here's a look into whether thread titles ended with a punctuation mark, and which ones:

- 1 thread (0.7%) ended in an ellipsis "…";

- 41 threads (27.9%) ended in a question mark "?";

- 4 threads (2.7%) ended in a period / full stop ".";

- 1 thread (0.7%) ended in a right parenthesis ")";

- 6 threads (4.1%) ended in an exclamation mark "!";

- 94 threads (63.9%) did not end in a punctuation mark.

1. Length of Thread Titles

Have you noticed that some threads have much longer titles than others? Here's a look into the length of thread titles:

- All MB thread titles in December 2025 contained 4,005 characters in total (including spaces), for an average of 27.2 chars per title.

- Two threads are tied for the longest title: "Funniest, deepest, quirkiest, unique style, biography- books!" by Swatcat and "Interesting Facts Group 2025 Year In Review (incomprehensive)" by In2restingFacts. Both threads have 61 chars in their titles.

- The thread with the shortest title was "100" by LuckyCat, with only 3 chars in its title.

2. Capitalization of Thread Titles

Even though they're technically "titles", not everyone on the MB adheres to Title Case in their thread titles. Here's a breakdown:

- 144 threads (98.0%) adhered to Sentence case by starting with a capital letter.

- Approximately 52 threads (35.4%) adhered to Title Case. Note that this is an "approximate" figure since there are slight variations in the exact rules of Title Case.
