Unofficial JetPunk Change Log

Many updates to the site have happened since March 2026, most of which are undocumented in the official change log. This blog will be documenting those updates in a format similar to the official change log. Changes are presented in reverse chronological order (latest first).

The main source of this is the Message Board, where QM and Stewart occasionally announce changes to the site. Some other changes users have noted are also included.

As of today, flash cards are open to user creation.

User profile pages now have a "More from ..." section where you can access a user's non-quiz content if they have any. This includes blogs, charts and word search puzzles.

Streak freezes have been added to JetPunk. Here's how they work:

- You have a 2% chance of getting a streak freeze anytime you extend your streak and have a streak of at least 7

- Freezes are automatically applied if you miss a day. But if you miss multiple days, you will need multiple freezes

- Everyone with a 50+ day streak has been given a free freeze

Also, the Quizmaster has fixed a bug related to daylight saving time where transitions caused streaks to be off by one hour outside the US.

In addition, there's a warning that your 'streak's not extended' if you take a featured quiz, but don't get more than 5 correct.

Starting today, you will only be allowed a maximum of five username changes.

Additionally, QM made some more updates to name changes:

1. Any name that anyone has ever had is now off limits to anyone but that user

2. A user's url is changed when they change names, but redirects are handled automatically (aka if someone clicks on the old name url, it leads to the new one)

3. AI reviews names for vulgarity. (QM's observation: "Unfortunatley there was a lot")

From now on, the Message Board should be used to discuss things related to JetPunk only.

As more governments introduce regulations on social media content, particularly social media content used by minors, JetPunk will be rolling out the following changes over the next few weeks:

- Groups will no longer be supported.

- Direct messages will no longer be supported (this was already a Premium only feature)

- The friends feature will be changed to "share scores" or something similar.

For security reasons, the login is now on its own page.

Users now have a chance to get free premium membership on JetPunk! Here's how it works:

- If your quiz is featured in English, you get 3 free months

- If your quiz is spotlighted you get 1 free month (and so does the person who spotlighted you)

- Whenever you extend your streak, you'll have a chance to earn 1 month of JetPunk Premium. Approximately 50 of these will be given per day.
