Average MB Thread Likes Each Day

The title says it all. This is me testing my theory that after the user bans, threads got a lot more likes due to heart flooding. I will try to update this daily.
Rounding to the nearest tenth
*Important*: This is after the bans and deletion of a lot of threads.
Lowest Point: 3 on March 12
Highest Point: 36 on April 9

Explanations of lowest and highest day:

Lowest: on March 12, most of the posts were kinda low quality. The thread with the most likes was the "On this day" with 7 likes. It includes "Playstation vs. Xbox" "Motorola Phones" And one where someone asks for help with their SVG and MKF asks for more clarity but they don't answer.

Highest: On April 9, there were 2 posts and they were both after the bans so it got heartflooded.

Very interesting to see the effect that the ban had on like counts, I guess when people could reply to comments they often would do that instead of just leaving a like.

excellent chart. there has definitely been a noticeable rise in average likes, most threads never got this many

There could be two theories on why this could be, one could be the heart bombing is done by the banned users themselves as a way to still interact with the MB, another is from a flux of users now interacting with the MB more now that banned users are gone, or it could be a combination of both.

I don't think it's the second one lol. Not really anyone has joined the mb as a consequence of the mass bans. It is definitely the silenced liking

No evidence for it though, you would have to run a control for the other variable. I'm not saying I disagree, I'm just saying it can't be proven.

I'd say there is good enough evidence mate. The crazy like count can't be explained by only 2-3 users that were first seen commenting after the crisis was over. The likes are definitely by former regulars

Oh and better yet, I could even prove that it is some alts that actually have boosted the likes so much

What we have evidence for is the bans have increased the amount of likes posts receive on the Message Board, what we don't have is evidence for why. We can make a pretty good hypothesis like these, but as of right now it is not statistically proven.

Well that is indeed quite true. Unless QM gives a detailed graph of the like ratio of banned users to total users or something like that(never gonna happen), then we theoratically can't be 100% sure.
