Q&A with Azerifactory
Hello!
I've received a lot of messages asking me to do a Q&A, so feel free to ask me anything, and I'll be happy to answer! I will ignore any questions I find too provocative or too personal.
For those who don't know me well, here are a few of my areas of interest: photography, music, football, history, politics, journalism, anime, fashion, poetry, space exploration, urban exploration, anything the South Caucasus related.
I also hope this thread will help you discover more about one of the world's ancient yet lesser-known regions.
Ready, Set, Go!
What team do you support?
What football scarves have you got?
And also a JetPunk one:
What are your goals for the Azeri section?
2. I've got at least 20-30 scarves but don't got Greek one yet :(
3. My aim is to attract a lot of new users. It's unfortunate, but there isn't much Azerbaijan-related content on English websites.
Anyway, I also wanted to ask this. What are yours(and generally Azeris') opinion of Greece and Cyprus, being culturally close to Turkey?
Also, have you tried to promote the Azeri section to social media or smth?
1. As for Greece and Cyprus...Most people have a rather surface-level understanding of Greece and Cyprus. Greece is often associated with its ancient culture, mythology and passion for football, while Cyprus is mostly seen as a summer holiday destination.
However, in Azerbaijan, public perception is somewhat different. Many are aware of Greece and Cyprus’ support for Armenia, which has not been well received. People also recognize the historically tense relations between these countries and Turkey, though I wouldn’t say it’s a major concern for the general public.
2. I've shared links via WhatsApp, and I believe some people have joined. I keep checking the statistics, and while the growth is slow, more and more people are engaging. This makes sense since there isn't much material available for quizzes in the Azer
1. Yes, I thought about that, as Greeks and Cypriots tend to have more sympathy towards Armenia, because of its religion and history of struggles with our "enemy", Turkey. Ahh, it would be so much better if we all just liked eachother and didn't judge countries from their past actions
2. Hmm that sounds interesting! I've thought many times about potentially promoting Greek to whatever social media, but I've just not committed to that other than giving few of my quizzes to friends to check out
Where was the scariest place you explored?
Do you have a YouTube channel?
2. No, I never had a Youtube channel.
