Hello dear JetPunkers!
Another month has passed: it's time for another interview to be published! This time, let's focus on Gademotsili, one of the most active users on the site over the past few months who is also one of the architects of the revival of the Greek section.
Before starting, I would like to remind you that you only have two days left to contribute to this amazing Insaniot's project. Don't forget to vote before the deadline if it's not already done!
On a cold day of early January 2025...
baptistegorce
We will really need this group quite soon.
Gademotsili99
baptistegorce
Some great efforts deserve to be spotlighted in one way or an other.
Gademotsili99
Thanks a lot for the compliment Poirot!
baptistegorce
Gademotsili99
Oh yes I definitely would mon ami!
One month later...
baptistegorce
We have waited enough, let's start this interview! First, could you present yourself on JetPunk quickly for our readers who don’t know you?
Gademotsili99
Sure! I am an 18 year old user from Greece. I am a relatively new user, having joined in June 2024. I have made many quizzes and blogs and have appeared in the 2024 Year in Review... A great pride of mine!
baptistegorce
Really impressive in just a few months, indeed!
Before really starting, could you explain us what your pseudonym means?
Gademotsili99
Ahh my name. Many have asked. So essentially, I obviously didn't want to put anything related to my personal details and just chose from a social media comment section I saw in Greek. Specifically, Gademo- means a unlucky/jinxer and Tsili was the name of that said social media creator. 99 was also random, but better than the 88 I had at first.
I have thought of changing the name many times, but at this point, it's part of my JP adventure...
baptistegorce
Definitely! Since you evoke it, let's jump into your JetPunk adventure. You are well-known for your involvment in the development of the Greek section. Could you tell us what exactly you are doing and why it's important to you?
Gademotsili99
Essentially, it all started with me meeting another fellow Greek, MasterRocket! We both wanted to contribute to the pretty inactive, as of then, Greek section and that is probably why you may see Greek quiz notifications every day!
What we do is rather simple:
1. We make quizzes, either our ideas or translations of English quizzes, mostly to our accounts, but there have been efforts to translate quizzes for other users, as well!
2. In blogs, I have created a Greek rub and a Greek Frontpage, updated every Monday with 4 new quizzes
3. We even managed to make a Greek Auto-Translator, with more than 1,000 unique answers and type-ins, with the help of Astana!
As a whole, I think that the Greek section is my passion and one day, I believe our efforts will be rewarded with the arrival of more Greek users for a greater Greek section!
baptistegorce
Your dedication is a pleasure to see! Congratulations and thanks to both you and Rocket for your efforts!
You are also a pretty active blogger, considering the fact that you published 24 blogs in only two months. What do you like in writing blogs? And what do you think of the current state of the blog section?
Gademotsili99
First of all, while I do like writing blogs sometimes, I wouldn't consider myself a blogger. As you may easily see, most of my blogs were from the first days, which was because of the hype and the many ideas I had accumulated during the 6-month wait.
What I find good about blogging, though, especially on JetPunk, is that you can talk about whatever theme you want, without getting hate, like you normally would on social media or reddit
In my opinion, blogs are currently in a good state, with most of them being of acceptable quality and not too much spam. On the other hand, some people may find that there are way too many story blogs, but personally I don't care that much. If there's something I am personally not interested in, I will just not read it, while other people might like it, though!
baptistegorce
It seems to be the best behaviour to adopt in such a situation.
Beside the Greek section, you are also a talented quizmaker who already received several features. Could you tell us what inspires you?
Gademotsili99
Thanks for the compliment! I think the major inspiration for making quizzes from the beginning has been my general love for JetPunk and my will to educate people on various subjects whenever possible, or in some cases, just experimenting and trying to see my limits. Also, the support of the fellow JetPunkers is a great deal!
baptistegorce
In one of your blogs, you explain how to create SVG quizzes on mobile. Do you mostly or even only use JetPunk on a smartphone? Would you say that it's more difficult to create JetPunk content on such a device?
Gademotsili99
Yes, indeed, I am one of the few who use JetPunk on mobile... Now that isn't necessarily a bad thing, as there are not that many limitations on mobile, but the great problem is indeed SVG's. I tried to single-handedly combat this problem with this blog, but unfortunately I hadn't read the fine detail of the only 15-day free trial. Whatever, I did make some good quizzes with that tool anyways!
baptistegorce
It's undeniable. And even without it, you are doing a great job in quizmaking.
Which of your own quizzes are you the proudest of?
Gademotsili99
Oh... That is a tough question... I like many quizzes of mine, like the Reversed Map quizzes or Guess the Footballers by their Career Paths series, which got 3 features in Spanish and 1 in Polish or the French Cities in Greek, which also got featured, but my favourite got to be this: Comarcas of Spain with a Map. Now it wasn't an 1000-hour project, but still it was my greatest one to date!
baptistegorce
And what about blogs?
Gademotsili99
Probably the How to make SVG Maps in Mobile, along with the Greek Year in Review I made! To be honest I still read it with great pride!
baptistegorce
You definitely can! Year in Review blogs are always a huge work, I talk from experience.
Do you have big projects of quizzes or blogs in preparation?
Gademotsili99
To be fair, not really. I am doing a series in Greek currently, but it isn't anything crazy. I mostly have small projects that I want to continue and eventually finish!
As for blogs, I would like to make a blog about my vacation on Switzerland and the French towns of Annecy and Chamonix, but that will have to wait until I find the inspiration to do so!
baptistegorce
🚨FRANCE MENTIONED🚨
“JetPunk Actuality Question”: A minesweeper was recently added on the site. What do you think about that? Do you like playing JetPunk minigames in general?
Gademotsili99
Minesweeper is a great game in general and of course, I think it is a great addition to JetPunk, for people to take a break from other, more tiresome activities of the site.
And I think that fact applies for most of the minigames. The purpose of their existence isn't becoming a trivial part of the site, but rather just a side-hustle, once in a while
baptistegorce
Don't tell that to SilverDog...
What is the most important event in your life as a JetPunker?
Gademotsili99
I may sound arrogant saying this, but it might actually be the recognition and positive reputation I have earned by some of the greatest JetPunkers! That is because, as you know better than everyone, in a site with no actual rewards for anything, the respect is everything! It is what keeps you going!
baptistegorce
Definitely. And you are not arrogant by telling it.
If you had to describe your JetPunk adventure in one word, what would it be?
Gademotsili99
This is a great question! I would say something along the lines of "dedication". The word is self-explanatory and I think I fill the criteria of being a very dedicated user to all my projects and greater goals!
baptistegorce
Would you change something to your JetPunk adventure, if it was possible?
Gademotsili99
As of now, I don't know. Never translating the 2024 news to French definitely comes to mind, but thinking about it, thanks to your and Ravi's help, it actually helped me to realise some things long-term and at the end of the day, if anything, I contributed to punkfrancais!
baptistegorce
Yeah, that's a rare privilege! And recognising that we can learn from our mistakes of the past is great sign of maturity.
If you had to choose just three JetPunkers for their quizzes, who would they be?
Gademotsili99
Dimby, overtired, JustJoshing.
Also SpiritOfFire is another one who, along with the others revolutionised JetPunk quizzes, with the Canadian teacher even inspiring for a new quiz type!
baptistegorce
And for their blogs?
baptistegorce
Thank you for the mention, that's an honour!
What are your passions in life outside JetPunk?
Gademotsili99
If you know me, you know it's football! I love playing it, I love watching it, I just love it!
Also, travelling is something I haven't really got round to doing too much, but whatever, who doesn't have a passion for travelling?
baptistegorce
Let's see if some of our dear readers disagree with that...
You are pretty active on the Message Board. What do you think of this part of the site?
Gademotsili99
baptistegorce
What do you hope for JetPunk development in the next few months?
Gademotsili99
Realistically, I don't really have any suggestions as of now. JetPunk is as good as ever and the work QM, Stewart and the trusted users have put is INSANE and I can only thank them all for their work!
Now, unrealistically, I want...... You know what, I won't even say it, you all know it!
baptistegorce
We are now reaching the end... Do you have a message to pass to the whole JetPunk community (or at least to the few users reading these blogs…)?
Gademotsili99
Nothing specifically I guess! Just a thank you to everyone who read through the whole interview! And another thank you to the entire community, who have always been there, ready to help!
baptistegorce
Thank you for your time, my dear Gademo! All the best for you and Rocket in your awesome projects for the Greek section. The efforts will pay, I'm sure!
Side note: the next interviewee will very probably be chosen with a WITJ. Stay tuned!
Thanks for reading and late happy Valentine's Day!
I feel like I have forgotten something... Oh, yeah, of course: making a joke about Ravi's interview!
Haven't read it yet as it's getting late, excited to read it tomorrow!
Will get to play WITJ for the first time too, so excited for that, along with my popcorn, google sheet, and melatonin void.
Glad you liked that one!
I have heard literally anything you can think of... Even long G name and big G
its been a month and FOUR DAYS actually since the last one smhSadly I'm still on Book 4, Section 14, Subsection 4, Clause 17, Verse 87, part AC of my questions. I'll try to get them back to you soon, but the Deschanel's reverse string theory subsection is a bit hard!
I probably should of realized what the Gadem part of the name meant haha but at least I do now.
Thank you for the kind words and congrats for all what you accomplished together!
when is the next interviewalso when are we starting the greco-telugu quiz raceWe were solidly winning last year tho!
Even in charts
xD
I acknowledged how late this guy was about all of this interview stuff and to be honest, I couldn't bear such a behaviour. I faced him the reality one day I was giving him some food and the last featured quizzes. He got so terrified he achieved to break his chains and knock me out. Just woke up from the coma i stayed in for 2 weeks. He escaped and I don't know where he is now... any ideas?
I agree with all of you, this guy should work on his interview.
Anyway, again a thank you to Poirot for the interview and a thank you all for your positive comments! I am more than glad you liked it!
Well done to both of you!
Baptiste gives clues and we have to guess the JP user which corresponds with those clues
And don't hate it, thank you for your help! Even five years later, English is still a challenge for me, it seems. ;-)
And He is definitely not the only one. ;-)
I don't know if it's the right place to do it but anyways. Do you want to be part of Hubertthephoenix's quiz about JetPunkers by AI image? If you want, please comment under this quiz.
It seems that there is no spot left, unfortunately.
