Introduction
On February 8, JetPunk introduced one of its biggest updates in the past few years: the Word Search has been overhauled, and it's coming right back to us new and improved! This surely was exciting news for all of us, as many people rushed into the puzzle editor to make their very own JetPunk word search puzzles. But just how much hype did it bring, and what are the odds of a feature?
# of New Puzzles per Day
A total of 231 puzzles were made in the first week of the new Word Search, for an average of 33 puzzles per day.
The day with the most puzzles was February 8 with 52 puzzles made. The rate of puzzle creation declined after the first few days, as the initial hype winded down.
The first day (Feb 8) was actually a half-day! The update was announced around 8 PM UK time (3 PM ET), so the rate of puzzle creation on the first day was actually much higher than on the other days.
Users with the Most Puzzles
A total of 93 unique users made at least one puzzle in the first week.
MasterRocket leads the way with 36 puzzles created! GeoguessrGirl was second place with 11 puzzles made; LuckyCat and KiloNova made 10 puzzles each.

Users with the Most Featured Puzzles
MasterRocket has 5 featured puzzles to their name, more than any other user! Simon1006 came second with 2 featured puzzles, and seven users have one featured puzzle each.
Of all 231 word search puzzles, 14 were featured. The feature rate was 14 of 231 or 1 in 16.5 (6.1%).
Conclusion
From these data, the pattern should be quite clear. The initial "new feature" hype brought in a large influx of new user-made puzzles. As this hype faded with time, fewer puzzles were being made, but the rate of decrease seems to be declining. Eventually, Word Search puzzles will probably just be viewed as "another type of post on JetPunk" in addition to all the others (quizzes, blogs, charts, MB posts), with some creators making higher-quality puzzles (and more featured puzzles) than others, similar to quizzes. With that being said, there certainly is reason to expect more high-quality and interesting word search puzzles from the community in the future.
I hope you found these data interesting, and here's to another 4 years of Word Search!
