How Many Quizzes Are Made on JetPunk Each Day?

+17

Introduction

We all too well know that JetPunk is a fairly well-known website, and has been growing more and more popular in recent years, thanks to a variety of reasons. However, we aren't going to talk about that in this blog. Instead, we're going to focus on a (relatively?) lesser known statistic for JetPunk: just how many quizzes are made every day (or every week/month/year, and so on)?

How It Works

I know what you might be asking: "We don't have Google Analytics or anything like that! How can you figure out the answer?" Yes, you're right, we don't have access to Google Analytics or similar tools, but what we do have lies right on top of your browser when you're on a quiz creation page. Sadly, no one seems to have noticed it at all, let alone exploring what it means or how it works.

It's in the URL of every quiz creation page, and I'm calling it the serial number of a quiz.

More specifically: the URL of a quiz creation page takes the form of "jetpunk.com/create-quiz/", followed by a (currently) seven-digit number that is the serial number of the current quiz.

Here's how I believe it works: First, there is some sort of "universal quiz counter" across JetPunk, which tracks how many quizzes have been made so far and increments every time a new one is created. Each time a quiz is created, the current value of the counter (after incrementing) is assigned to the quiz, which is added to the URL of the corresponding quiz creation page.

At first glance, this number might not seem to mean that much, but as you're going to see, we can actually use it to answer a lot of questions about quiz creation activity on JetPunk.

What Can We Do with It?

Well, the first thing we can derive from the counter, and the most obvious one, is how many quizzes have been made so far. It's in the number itself.

Currently, as of writing this blog (early November 2025), the counter value stands at around 2.1 million. So, it's reasonable to assume that over 2.1 million quizzes have been made on JetPunk since its inception. (Note, however, that not all quizzes may be published or public in visibility. This means that slightly less than 2.1 million quizzes may have been made public and playable on JetPunk.)

Now, if you take a closer look at the "Create a Quiz" page on JetPunk, you can see that it actually tells you when your quizzes were created. This is another important piece of information we'll need in order to answer the question posed in the blog's title.

In fact, we won't need anything else beyond those two pieces of information - serial number and creation date. You might be wondering: "How?" Well, let me explain.

We already know the total number of quizzes at specific points in time (from serial numbers and dates). Number. Time. It seems we can derive something else from it. Even a middle schooler should know at this point, those words spell out "rate" by themselves. In our context, it's the rate of quiz creation, i.e. how many quizzes are made over the course of a day, week, or any other time interval.

And if we go one step further from there, we can also analyze changes in the rates of quiz creation over time. That means we'll be able to know whether quizmaking is becoming more popular or not, among other things.

For the rest of this blog, I will be leveraging this information to obtain some insights about quiz creation activity on JetPunk.

Analysis

Note: As my activity on JetPunk varied over time, I may not have complete data or information about quiz creation during a specific year. That said, I'll try my best to derive estimates of quiz creation rates over time based on what's available to me.

Quiz creation activity in 2021 (estimated)

My first quiz of 2021 was made on January 4th, at which point the quiz counter was at 1,381,114. By August 26th (the day my last quiz of 2021 was made), the counter had risen to 1,449,571.

Subtracting the two counter values gives 68,457 quizzes created over 234 days.

This translates to approximately 293 quizzes created per day in January to August 2021.

Quiz creation activity in 2022 (estimated)

I made my first quiz of 2022 on January 28th, at which point the quiz counter stood at 1,485,782. By December 26th (the day my last quiz of 2022 was made), the counter had risen to 1,608,297.

Subtracting the two gives 122,515 quizzes created over 332 days.

This equates to just over 369 quizzes created per day over that period. This represents a considerable increase in quiz creation activity compared to 2021, which aligns with the growing popularity of the site.

Quiz creation activity in 2023 (estimated)

My first quiz of 2023 was created on January 9th when the counter was at 1,613,919. By December 30th of the same year, this number had risen to 1,750,406.

Simple subtraction yields 136,487 quizzes made over a period of 355 days.

This implies an average of roughly 384 quizzes created per day during 2023. Only a slight year-on-year increase from 2022, it could be due to the ending of the Daily Word Search minigame affecting the site's popularity.

Quiz creation activity in 2024-2025 (estimated)

I've been less active on JetPunk in recent years, so to give a better estimate I'm grouping together 2024 and 2025.

I made my first quiz of 2024 on January 8th of that year, at which point the counter was at 1,754,516. By October 31st, 2025, this number had reached 2,114,350.

Subtracting gives 359,834 quizzes created over 662 days.

This means that, on average, around 544 quizzes were made every day during this period. This is a significant increase compared to previous years, and again, this trend lines up quite well with the growing popularity of JetPunk itself as observed from other metrics.

Conclusion

The results weren't surprising at all - JetPunk, being a great quiz website in nature, has been attracting more and more dedicated quiz creators in recent years, just as the website's general popularity continues to grow. The best is yet to come, and let's hope that there will be more people who dedicate themselves to contributing to this wonderful website.

Thanks for reading, and happy quizzing!

Pretty good calculations. I know the blog editor counts blogs created, not published, so it's probably likely that the quiz editor assigns numbers in the same way.

Yep, blogs do appear to do the same thing, with a "global blog counter" of some sort. And I did know that already.

Fun fact, by the way: this is blog number 10,164 according to that counter

Major problem with this... When quizzes shifted from Quizmaster only to user creation back in like 2009, the counter started at 1m. So all the figures here from the quiz ids need to have 1m taken off them.

Also remember that includes unsubmitted quizzes and deleted quizzes. Currently there's 740k quizzes including unsubmitted, and there's 611k live quizzes, of which only 360k are English!

In terms of daily created, there are around 10-12k quizzes created/submitted each month, so looking at around 400 a day average!
