Message Board Recap - February 2025

Welcome to the sixth edition of "Message Board Recap"! Here's some (hopefully) interesting stats about the Message Board for the month of February 2025. This will be similar in format to MasterRocket's September 2024 blog (which I'm treating as the first edition), but not exactly the same.

- A total of 113 threads were made during the month of February 2025, giving an average of 4.04 threads per day.

- The day with the most threads was February 9, with 13 threads.

- The days with the fewest threads were February 3, 12 and 16, with one thread each. Every single day in February 2025 saw at least one thread made.

- A total of 44 unique users made at least one thread throughout the month, giving an average of 2.57 threads per user.

- Throughout the month, one user (Syrext) made 28 threads (!), one user (HubertThePhoenix) made 11 threads, one user (DarthKnight) made 7 threads, two users made 6 threads each, and 39 made four or fewer threads each.

The top 6 thread creators made 62 threads in total, or 54.9% of all February 2025 threads.

- All threads in February 2025 were liked 517 times in total, giving an average of 18.5 likes per day, 4.58 likes per thread, and 11.8 likes per unique user.

- The day with the most likes was February 9, with 41 likes.

- The day with the most likes per thread was February 7, with 35 likes and 2 threads, averaging 17.5 likes per thread.

The top 6 like-getters received 333 likes in total, or 64.4% of all February 2025 likes.

Now let's look at the top 10 most-liked Message Board threads (all thread titles are exactly as they appear):

- All threads in February 2025 received 364 comments in total, giving an average of 13 comments per day, 3.22 comments per thread, and 8.27 comments per unique user.

- The day with the most comments was February 9, with 59 comments.

- The day with the most comments per thread was February 8, with 46 comments and 3 threads, averaging 15.3 comments per thread.

(Non-exact figures are rounded to one decimal place)

The top 6 comment-getters received 192 comments in total, or 52.7% of all MB comments in February 2025.

Now let's look at the top 10 most commented threads (all thread titles are exactly as they appear):

Here's some other fun facts and stats that I think might be interesting.

The correct way to spell "JetPunk" is to either capitalize both the J and the P, or to capitalize neither. Here's a breakdown of how people did in thread titles:

✅ Both the J and the P were capitalized on 6 occasions;

❌ On another 1 occasion, the J was capitalized, but not the P.

Overall, "JetPunk" was correctly spelled on 6 out of 7 occasions, for a score of 86/100.

All but one got it right! So close! But don't worry, we can try again next month.

Here's a look into whether thread titles ended with a punctuation mark, and which ones:

- 1 thread (0.9%) ended in a single quotation mark (’);

- 1 thread (0.9%) ended in a right square bracket "]";

- 28 threads (24.8%) ended in a question mark "?";

- 5 threads (4.4%) ended in a period / full stop ".";

- 12 threads (10.6%) ended in an exclamation mark "!";

- 66 threads (58.4%) did not end in a punctuation mark.

1. Length of Thread Titles

Have you noticed that some threads have much longer titles than others? Here's a look into the length of thread titles:

- All MB thread titles in February 2025 contained 3,154 characters in total (including spaces), for an average of 27.9 chars per title.

- The thread with the longest title was "What Are the Most Popular JetPunk users without a Featured Quiz?" by HubertThePhoenix, with 64 chars in its title.

- The thread with the shortest title was "Hi" by J00nyir, with only 2 chars in its title.

2. Capitalization of Thread Titles

Even though they're technically "titles", not everyone on the MB adheres to Title Case in their thread titles. Here's a breakdown:

- 110 threads (97.3%) adhered to Sentence case by starting with a capital letter.

- Approximately 57 threads (50.4%) adhered to Title Case. Note that this is an "approximate" figure since there are slight variations in the exact rules of Title Case.
