Message Board Recap - February 2026

Welcome to the 18th edition of "Message Board Recap"! Here's some (hopefully) interesting stats about the Message Board for the month of February 2026. This will be similar in format to MasterRocket's September 2024 blog (which I'm treating as the first edition), but not exactly the same.

- A total of 163 threads were made during the month of February 2026, for an average of 5.82 threads per day.

- The day with the most threads was February 6, with 16 threads.

- The days with the fewest threads were February 18 and 25, with 2 threads each.

- A total of 68 unique users made at least one thread throughout the month, for an average of 2.40 threads per user.

- Throughout the month, one user (CommanderPro) made 21 threads, one user (akjlddkjslfsd) made 12 threads, two users made 8 threads each, one user (Lindwyrm) made 6 threads, and 63 made five or fewer threads each.

The top 6 thread creators made 60 threads in total, or 36.8% of all February threads.

- All threads in February 2026 were liked 864 times in total, for an average of 30.9 likes per day, 5.30 likes per thread, and 12.7 likes per unique user.

- The day with the most likes was February 6, with 80 likes.

- The day with the most likes per thread was February 17, with 58 likes and 5 threads, averaging 11.6 likes per thread.

The top 6 like-getters received 304 likes in total, or 35.2% of all February likes.

Now let's look at the top 10 most-liked Message Board threads (all thread titles are exactly as they appear):

- All threads in February 2026 received 1,606 comments in total, for an average of 57.4 comments per day, 9.85 comments per thread, and 23.6 comments per unique user.

- The day with the most comments was February 6, with 145 comments.

- The day with the most comments per thread was February 15, with 95 comments and 3 threads, averaging 31.7 comments per thread.

The top 6 comment-getters received 696 comments in total, or 43.3% of all MB comments in February.

Now let's look at the top 10 most commented threads (all thread titles are exactly as they appear):

Here are the top 10 users with the most total comments year-to-date (through February 28):

Total comments year to date: 3,287

- Overall, MB threads in February 2026 had more comments than likes, with a like-to-comment ratio of 1:1.86.

- 51 threads (31.3%) had more likes than comments; 97 (59.5%) had more comments than likes; 15 (9.2%) had the same number of likes and comments.

Here's some other fun facts and stats that I think might be interesting.

The correct way to spell "JetPunk" is to either capitalize both the J and the P, or to capitalize neither. Here's a breakdown of how people did in thread titles:

✅ Both the J and the P were capitalized on 12 occasions;

❌ On another 5 occasions, the J was capitalized, but not the P.

Overall, "JetPunk" was correctly spelled on 12 out of 17 occasions or 71% of the time.

Here's a look into whether thread titles ended with a punctuation mark, and which ones:

- 60 threads (36.8%) ended in a question mark "?";

- 1 thread (0.6%) ended in a colon ":";

- 12 threads (7.4%) ended in a period / full stop ".";

- 1 thread (0.6%) ended in a right parenthesis ")";

- 8 threads (4.9%) ended in an exclamation mark "!";

- 1 thread (0.6%) ended in a single quotation mark (');

- 80 threads (49.1%) did not end in a punctuation mark.

1. Length of Thread Titles

Have you noticed that some threads have much longer titles than others? Here's a look into the length of thread titles:

- All MB thread titles in February 2026 contained 4,863 characters in total (including spaces), for an average of 29.8 chars per title.

- The thread with the longest title was "Do you use the Daily Trivia Archive and whats your highest score" by SteveTheEagle, with 64 chars in its title.

- Two threads are tied for the shortest title: "3 years!" by Capybarra and "New Quiz" by HubertThePhoenix. Both threads only have 8 chars in their titles.

2. Capitalization of Thread Titles

Even though they're technically "titles", not everyone on the MB adheres to Title Case in their thread titles. Here's a breakdown:

🎉 All 163 threads adhered to Sentence case by starting with a capital letter. Finally, after one and a half years...

- Approximately 64 threads (39.3%) adhered to Title Case. Note that this is an "approximate" figure since there are slight variations in the exact rules of Title Case.
