Message Board Recap - July 2025

Welcome to the 11th edition of "Message Board Recap"! Here's some (hopefully) interesting stats about the Message Board for the month of July 2025. This will be similar in format to MasterRocket's September 2024 blog (which I'm treating as the first edition), but not exactly the same.

- A total of 64 threads were made during the month of July 2025, giving an average of 2.06 threads per day.

- The day with the most threads was July 1, with 8 threads.

- The days with the fewest threads were July 5, 7, 10, 23, 29 and 31, with no threads.

- A total of 39 unique users made at least one thread throughout the month, giving an average of 1.64 threads per user.

- Throughout the month, one user (teqau) made 5 threads, two users made 4 threads each, four users made 3 threads each, seven users made 2 threads each, and 25 made one thread each.

The top 6 thread creators made 22 threads in total, or 34.4% of all July 2025 threads.

- All threads in July 2025 were liked 400 times in total, giving an average of 12.9 likes per day, 6.25 likes per thread, and 10.3 likes per unique user.

- The day with the most likes was July 18, with 51 likes.

- The day with the most likes per thread was July 19, with 18 likes and a single thread, averaging 18 likes per thread.

The top 6 like-getters received 151 likes in total, or 37.8% of all July 2025 likes.

Now let's look at the top 10 most-liked Message Board threads (all thread titles are exactly as they appear):

Here are the top 10 users with the most total likes year-to-date (through July 31, 2025):

- All threads in July 2025 received 429 comments in total, giving an average of 13.8 comments per day, 6.70 comments per thread, and 11 comments per unique user.

- The day with the most comments was July 3, with 46 comments.

- The day with the most comments per thread was July 16, with 17 comments and a single thread, averaging 17 comments per thread.

The top 6 comment-getters received 187 comments in total, or 43.6% of all MB comments in July 2025.

Now let's look at the top 10 most commented threads (all thread titles are exactly as they appear):

Here's some other fun facts and stats that I think might be interesting.

The correct way to spell "JetPunk" is to either capitalize both the J and the P, or to capitalize neither. Here's a breakdown of how people did in thread titles:

✅ Both the J and the P were capitalized on 2 occasions;

❌ On another 4 occasions, the J was capitalized, but not the P.

Overall, "JetPunk" was correctly spelled on 2 out of 6 occasions, for a score of 33/100.

Here's a look into whether thread titles ended with a punctuation mark, and which ones:

- 1 thread (1.6%) ended in an ellipsis "…";

- 21 threads (32.8%) ended in a question mark "?";

- 2 threads (3.1%) ended in a period / full stop ".";

- 1 thread (1.6%) ended in a right parenthesis ")";

- 4 threads (6.3%) ended in an exclamation mark "!";

- 35 threads (54.7%) did not end in a punctuation mark.

1. Length of Thread Titles

Have you noticed that some threads have much longer titles than others? Here's a look into the length of thread titles:

- All MB thread titles in July 2025 contained 1,854 characters in total (including spaces), for an average of 29.0 chars per title.

- The thread with the longest title was "Can a quiz become featured if a similar quiz has already been?" by teqau, with 62 chars in its title.

- The thread with the shortest title was "Flags" by Jsmbh, with only 5 chars in its title.

2. Capitalization of Thread Titles

Even though they're technically "titles", not everyone on the MB adheres to Title Case in their thread titles. Here's a breakdown:

- 61 threads (95.3%) adhered to Sentence case by starting with a capital letter.

- Approximately 20 threads (31.3%) adhered to Title Case. Note that this is an "approximate" figure since there are slight variations in the exact rules of Title Case.
