Message Board Recap - June 2025

Welcome to the tenth edition of "Message Board Recap"! Here's some (hopefully) interesting stats about the Message Board for the month of June 2025. This will be similar in format to MasterRocket's September 2024 blog (which I'm treating as the first edition), but not exactly the same.

- A total of 81 threads were made during the month of June 2025, giving an average of 2.7 threads per day.

- The days with the most threads were June 21 and 30, with 6 threads each.

- The days with the fewest threads were June 6, 9, 10, 15, 20, 22 and 24, with one thread each. Every day in June 2025 saw at least one thread made.

- A total of 51 unique users made at least one thread throughout the month, giving an average of 1.59 threads per user.

- Throughout the month, one user (Lexiconic) made 7 threads, one user (Lindwyrm) made 6 threads, five users made 3 threads each, nine users made 2 threads each, and 35 made only one thread each.

The top 6 thread creators made 25 threads in total, or 30.9% of all June 2025 threads.

- All threads in June 2025 were liked 550 times in total, giving an average of 18.3 likes per day, 6.79 likes per thread, and 10.8 likes per unique user.

- The day with the most likes was June 13, with 51 likes.

- The day with the most likes per thread was June 15, with 17 likes and a single thread, averaging 17 likes per thread.

The top 6 like-getters received 202 likes in total, or 36.7% of all June 2025 likes.

Now let's look at the top 10 most-liked Message Board threads (all thread titles are exactly as they appear):

Here are the top 10 users with the most total likes year-to-date (through June 30, 2025):

- All threads in June 2025 received 416 comments in total, giving an average of 13.9 comments per day, 5.14 comments per thread, and 8.16 comments per unique user.

- The day with the most comments was June 13, with 56 comments.

- The day with the most comments per thread was June 26, with 34 comments and 2 threads, averaging 17 comments per thread.

The top 6 comment-getters received 213 comments in total, or 51.2% of all MB comments in June 2025.

Now let's look at the top 10 most commented threads (all thread titles are exactly as they appear):

Here's some other fun facts and stats that I think might be interesting.

The correct way to spell "JetPunk" is to either capitalize both the J and the P, or to capitalize neither. Here's a breakdown of how people did in thread titles:

✅ Both the J and the P were capitalized on 2 occasions;

❌ On another 1 occasion, the J was capitalized, but not the P.

Overall, "JetPunk" was correctly spelled on 2 out of 3 occasions, for a score of 67/100.

Here's a look into whether thread titles ended with a punctuation mark, and which ones:

- 28 threads (34.6%) ended in a question mark "?";

- 3 threads (3.7%) ended in a period / full stop ".";

- 3 threads (3.7%) ended in a right parenthesis ")";

- 5 threads (6.2%) ended in an exclamation mark "!";

- 42 threads (51.9%) did not end in a punctuation mark.

1. Length of Thread Titles

Have you noticed that some threads have much longer titles than others? Here's a look into the length of thread titles:

- All MB thread titles in June 2025 contained 2,638 characters in total (including spaces), for an average of 32.6 chars per title.

- Two threads are tied for the longest: "My biggest quiz - All subdivisions of the Soviet Union on a Map" and "I made a huge quiz: Prefectures of the Japanese Empire on a Map". Both threads were made by Lindwyrm and have 63 chars in their titles.

- Three threads are tied for the shortest: "Time" by Johnno59, "HELP" by OsTheKidA and "help" by ye3. All these threads have only 4 chars in their titles.

2. Capitalization of Thread Titles

Even though they're technically "titles", not everyone on the MB adheres to Title Case in their thread titles. Here's a breakdown:

- 77 threads (95.1%) adhered to Sentence case by starting with a capital letter.

- Approximately 28 threads (34.6%) adhered to Title Case. Note that this is an "approximate" figure since there are slight variations in the exact rules of Title Case.
