Country Showdown #20 (FINALE)

I would like to note that JetPunk Traitors and Country Madness will still continue, but they will not be in this blog, as this is the finale of Country Showdown.

In November, 2024, six JetPunk users drafted their teams, each having six countries. Their goal was to win challenges, vote the other teams out, and become the last team standing. In the first vote, nobody was immune, as six countries were about to be voted out. Three of those were on Team Astana, putting them at an early disadvantage. We lost Switzerland, California, North Korea, Israel, and Azerbaijan. However, we were faced with our first tie. The tie was between three of the world giants. You guessed it, America, China, and Russia. We ended up with another tie, between America and Russia. This was the first appearence of the infamous wheel. The wheel chose to eliminate Russia. In the next challenge, Team Balkan+ was the only team to participate, giving them safety. The infamous wheel was brought back to decide the other two teams to earn safety. It saved Astana and KiloNova. We had our first regular elimination, where Australia surprisingly took the fall. America also got voted out here, forcing a tie between an unlucky pair. You guessed it, China and Liechtenstein. In a landslide, China was eliminated. Kilo took a huge risk in the next challenge, but it paid off and they won safety along with Balkan+ and MKF. At this point, the only teams to not take any hits were Balkan+ and KiloNova. Team Kilo took their first hit when they lost Pakistan. The DRC was also eliminated here. We also lost Finland and Japan, putting Team Astana's numbers down to five. Then came the advantages, which could be played to protect your team, or to cause chaos. They were scattered all over my quizzes, and Team Nickelz found four, Team Balkan+ found two, and Team KiloNova found one. The next challenge, Teams Astana and Nickelz were granted safety by their competitors, and the wheel chose whether to give safety to Balkan+ or Kilo. It chose to save Balkan+ but what happened after that was a first.

We had our first advantage play. Kilo used a country steal advantage to steal Norway from the already down in numbers Team Astana, giving them a full team of ten.

And then we had our first major blowout.

Liechtenstein received 47 out of the 62 votes cast, because of his evil lore personality. However, some teams took advantage of this. Only one person placed votes on Philippines, and they were eliminated. We also had one person place a vote on each Kazakhstan, Armenia, and Jordan. Only one of the three countries would survive. That country was Kazakhstan, and Armenia and Jordan were eliminated. This meant that Team Astana was only down to Kazakhstan and Qatar. The next lowest team at this time was Team hi111223, but they had six members remaining. Team Nickelz got first place in the next challenge, winning an advantage. We saw another blowout with Belgium's elimination, but it wasn't as bad as Liechtenstein's. We also lost South Korea, Nigeria, and Germany.

However, Nickelz played two advantages. He played an advantage to add a new country (Poland) to his team, and chose to steal Greece from Balkan+. The leader of Team Balkan+ was Gade, who is Greek, so this caused a rivalry between the two. Due to this, Team Nickelz tied with Balkan+ and Kilo for first. This was also the first time Team Balkan+ lost a member. MKF won the next challenge, winning an advantage. The countries eliminated here were Kazakhstan, forcing Team Astana down to just Qatar. We then had our first four-way tie. It was between two members of Team Kilo, and two members of Team hi. Norway and Kosovo (Team Kilo) were eliminated. Team hi was down go four members at this time. The first country eliminated in the next ceremony was Qatar, eliminated Team Astana from the competition. The Netherlands were also eliminated, meaning that Team hi was down to three. Astana's elimination was our first out of the five eliminations that took/will take place.

For the next challenge, we had another advantage play. This time by Team Balkan+, who played an advantage to automatically gift them immunity from the vote without having to do the challenge. Team KiloNova also won safety, and an advantage. At the following elimination ceremony, Brazil got eliminated, limiting Team hi111223 down to two members. Bulgaria and Cyprus also got eliminated. Both of them were Balkan+ members, so Team Nickelz took the lead.

The next round was the most chaotic yet. The first country eliminated was Ukraine, so Ireland was the sole member of Team hi111223. Greece was also voted out, but the extra life advantage played by Nickelz, so the Greece votes didn't count. Mexico was then eliminated. Finally, Ireland was eliminated here, so this would mean that Team hi111223 would be eliminated, right?

The answer is no.

KiloNova won the chaos advantage to where he could force countries to swap teams, and revive a country as well. Kazakhstan was revived, but as a member of Team KiloNova. Saudi Arabia and Romania swapped teams, and finally... Ireland and New Zealand swapped.

HOWEVER, Ireland got eliminated, so New Zealand became the sole member of Team hi111223, while Ireland still got eliminated, so Team MKF got nothing in return for New Zealand.

New Zealand managed to survive the next elimination, as Algeria, Turkey, and Guyana got eliminated instead.

Then we had another advantage play, but this one had to be played the same way by two teams, or else it would have no effect. The two teams were KiloNova and Balkan+. Because of this, Azerbaijan and Palestine replaced Spain and Greece, while Northern Cyprus replaced Monaco.

The next round, Serbia, the United Arab Emirates, and Italy were eliminated.

For the next challenge, a safety baton had to be passed around until ten countries remained. Montenegro for Team Balkan+ was randomly chosen to get it first, and saved New Zealand, keeping Team hi111223 alive. It was then passed to Team McKenzieFam, who kept saving countries on Team Nickelz while Team Nickelz did the same. Then it was passed to Team KiloNova, who kept giving it to Team Balkan+ while Team Balkan+ did the same. This happened until there were ten countries remaining unpicked. Those ten were vulnerable of elimination.

Austria and Nepal got eliminated here, due to the results of the challenge before the safety baton one. Taiwan and Poland were eliminated next. The next challenge, Team McKenzieFam won the advantage thanks to Guyana, and Palestina, Romania, and Thailand were voted out. By then Team KiloNova was leading. There were seven countries left, while the next highest was four. Egypt was the next to go, meaning that only two countries were left on Team Nickelz.

And then, the inactive period came. Nobody participated in the next challenge, meaning that the wheel got to choose who got safety. KiloNova and McKenzieFam were chosen for safety. Only one person voted as well, and they chose Guyana and Azerbaijan to eliminate. This meant that Team McKenzieFam was down to two members, while Team Nickelz was down to just India. Georgia and Malta were voted out, meaning that Team Balkan+ was down to two members.

And then.. the twist happened. The past votes twist. The six of the remaining twelve countries with the most past votes would be eliminated. Saudi Arabia was the first eliminated, meaning that Montenegro was the sole member of Team Balkan+. Kazakhstan went next, and then India was eliminated. That meant that Team Nickelz was eliminated from Country Showdown. Then New Zealand was eliminated, eliminating Team hi111223. Northern Cyprus was eliminated, meaning that Team MKF was down to one member. Montenegro was the final country eliminated, making Team Balkan+ just short of the finale.

This leaves us to where we are now! Five KiloNova members, one McKenzieFam member! Team McKenzieFam may only have a 1/6 chance of victory, but it can still happen!
