July '24 CQMB: Venom 3, Avengers 5, Blade, & More

This trailer has me invested in this movie. I’ve seen things talking about how this trailer does more to accentuate aspects to Venom’s character rather than Spider-Man teases. I think it’s interesting to go deeper into the Venom lore rather than having another generic superhero movie (although I do find enjoyment in the previous two films). I am pretty confused about that bar scene though… it obviously has to do with the Spider-Man: No Way Home credit scene, but I just don’t know what they’re trying to do. It’s really confusing. All in all though, this was an enjoyable trailer.

This month we got a few updates in regards to Avengers 5. One of those being that Doctor Strange is confirmed to return, which is kind of a given. Another being that there will reportedly be 60+ characters in the film. This is unlike any movie has ever done in the past, and it has me worried because even movies like Avengers: Infinity War didn’t touch those numbers. This just has me a little worried based on the little build up that has been done since the Infinity Saga. Avengers 5 is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 1, 2026.

Evangeline Lilly, known for her role as Hope van Dyne, or The Wasp, in the MCU, has stepped down from her acting career. This likely means she will no longer be in the MCU. I don’t know what this will entail for the character, so I guess only time will tell.

There ain’t no way. Back in September of 2022, former director Bassam Tariq was removed from the project. Two months later, Director Yann Demange was recruited to direct the Blade movie. However, this month, he two became detached from the project. This is impossible. This movie may just become the epilogue to the MCU or something, because there’s no way this movie will make its release date! This is crazy news because this movie was initially scheduled for November 3, 2023. And now it’s scheduled for almost exactly two years later, which I doubt it will be able to pull off. Nonetheless, Blade is set to release on November 7, 2025.

In the last week, Marvel released a TV spot for Deadpool & Wolverine, which included the character Sabretooth, played by Tyler Mane, the same person that played the character in the X-Men movie from 2000. This is crazy. This just gives us fans an idea on what this movie is planning to bring us. This movie will be very nostalgic for us die hard fans. Deadpool & Wolverine will be in theaters July 26.

This year for the San Diego Comic Con, Marvel is once again scheduled to have a presentation at Hall H. This is the same place where they announced their extensive schedule (Phases 4-6) in 2022. This could possibly mean we could get another large presentation letting us know when their planned projects will be put on the big screen.
