June ‘25 CQMB - Avengers, Spider-Man, Ironheart, & More

Avengers Movies Delayed

This weirdly puts me at ease. Both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars have been delayed 7 months. I seriously want Marvel to take as much time as they need. Nothing would be more disappointing than a bad Avengers movie. That would genuinely be awful. This delay also makes it so Spider-Man: Brand New Day comes out before Doomsday. I wonder how this could possibly affect Brand New Day’s plotline, if it does at all. Now Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for December 18, 2026 and Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled for December 17, 2027.

Thunderbolts* Thoughts (SPOILERS)

Wow. This movie was very good. I would even possibly argue it’s better than Spider-Man: No Way Home. I have only seen Thunderbolts* once, but it was seriously very refreshing. With over 30+ movies in the MCU, it is basically impossible to make something that feels completely original. Although there were a few MCU tropes, this movie felt completely brand new and hasn’t been done before. The team members were super fun and intriguing, and the pace kept the audience interested. It was super cool to watch them become The New Avengers as well, and how it ended up happening with Val. I do find it a little weird that they all went with Val’s announcement despite her attempt to kill all of them, but it doesn’t not make sense either. The post credit scene teasing The Fantastic Four: First Steps was a great way to segue into the incoming Phase Six of the MCU, and it has me super hyped for Fantastic Four. I would give this movie a 9.5/10.

Ironheart Teaser Thoughts

Pretty standard. I’m a little interested because apparently Mephisto is a part of the show. I don’t really know how that will play in, but after all the WandaVision rumors it’s funny that he’s finally making an appearance in the MCU (allegedly). I’ve caught up on all the MCU shows other than Daredevil: Born Again (I’m going to watch the other Defenders series beforehand), so I’ll probably watch this one too, especially since it’s releasing over the summer. I don’t know if this show is necessary, but that doesn’t anger me as much since it seems like Marvel has rediscovered its footing. Ironheart will begin streaming on Disney+ on June 24.

Spider-Noir Teaser Thoughts

I know a lot of people are super excited for this show, but I’m pretty indifferent. This was just like a 30 second promo, but it didn’t do anything to make me super excited. Spider-Noir will be on Prime in 2026.

Peacemaker: Season 2 Teaser Thoughts

I haven’t seen the first season of Peacemaker, but this second season looks interesting. It does a better job at clarifying the bounds between the DCEU and the DCU. Peacemaker will begin streaming on Max on August 21.

Superman Trailer Thoughts

Nothing else too crazy was shown in this trailer. I mean, at least to me. Nonetheless, I’m really excited for this movie. Superman will be in theaters on July 11.

Hulk in Brand New Day

A rather confusing announcement was made this May: Mark Ruffalo will be returning as Hulk in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. This seems very random, and I’m also confused given both Hulk and Spider-Man weren’t in the cast announcement for Avengers: Doomsday. I don’t really know what Marvel is cooking up, but I’ve always had fun with the Spider-Man movies, so I’m not worried. Why do you guys think Hulk is in this movie? Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be in theaters on July 31, 2026.

I don't exactly care for the Avengers or DC all too much, but interesting blog nonetheless.

I'm glad that Doomsday and Secret Wars are getting delayed as well. Like you said, I want them to take as long as they need.

Yeah, everyone seems to agree that Thunderbolts* is one of the best MCU movies in years (which I agree with). But personally I enjoyed No Way Home a bit more. But besides NWH Thunderbolts is the best MCU film since Endgame. I'm super excited for seeing these characters again in Doomsday.

Also, what do you think about the FF ship at the end? My theory is that it might not actually be the FF but someone else (such as Doom).

The only reason I would watch Ironheart is to see Sacha Baron Cohen as Mephisto (who we've been waiting to see since WandaVision, like you said). I might just watch whatever episode he's in (I assume he's not in most of them).

I can't find a trailer for Noir (besides 2 AI created ones).

I'm, frankly, getting pretty tired of Mark Ruffalo Hulk. He was already in a supporting role in Ragnarok. We don't him to be Spider-Man's sidekick too.

Yeah I’m still on the fence as to whether or not I think Thunderbolts is better than NWH- I do think you may be right that NWH is slightly better though- it was such an event.

Yeah I’ve heard that Doom theory a lot. I definitely think it’s a possibility. I do think that would be cool, but then that means he has to tie into The Fantastic Four: First Steps in some way, which is possible. There were some pictures of an actor on set of Fantastic Four being covered in front of cameras, which could have very well been RDJ. My only concern is that if it is Doom in the FF ship, that his character will be rushed in the FF movie (should his first appearance be in that movie). I don’t want his introduction to seem out of nowhere, especially considering Galactus is the main villain in FF. So yeah I’m not sure how I feel about that theory, but I do think it’s a possibility.

I personally don’t even totally understand the hype with Mephisto. It’s cool he’s finally gonna show up given all the hype from WandaVision, but like I don’t even know why there was so much hype to begin with. But yeah, Ironheart just kinda falls flat in reasons that anyone would want to watch it, so I respect that mindset.

I don’t think Prime themselves released the sneak peek, but it’s a 30 second teaser. You can probably find it on YouTube, but if not, search up Spider-Noir sneak peek and there will probably be articles about it with the video linked or something.

Yeah I’m sick of Professor Hulk. The character loses a lot of dynamic and intrigue when he’s in that form. It feels pretty out of place for him to be in a Spider-Man movie too, assuming he’s a supporting role and not just a cameo. I hope there will be some plotline or something where he reverts back to the old Hulk to give something to look forward to in the upcoming Avengers movies.

I think Hulk has some weird contract and licensing thing around it where Marvel has to pay profits on full Hulk movies, but not on other movies where the character only appears, such as Avengers and Thor, and now Spider-Man as well.

I sure hope Hulk goes back to his original form, you're right that Professor Hulk is getting boring, but I feel like they're gonna want to use the Professor to explain some multiverse thing they'll have going. And if Spidey & Hulk get trapped in another dimension, that could explain their absence from Doomsday

Thunderbolts was amazing! As you said, so refreshing to finally get a Marvel Movie that I can confidently say was a great watch! I loved the characters and thought the story was genuinely unique.

Ironheart will have to do something REALLY big to change my view on her character. In Wakanda Forever she was incredibly irritating to me. Iron MAN had to work insanely hard to develop his suits and BECOME the Iron Man. In Wakanda this random college girl is somehow able to develop a suit while a college, then just gets unlimited access to whatever she wants to make a suit, all the while calling Iron Man's technology like "lame" or sum, idk I haven't watched that one in a while.

Hulk being in Brand New Day will certainly be interesting. Either good or bad, but I cannot tell yet. I think the movie will be a fun watch either way though.

Great blog as always!

Yeah I thoroughly enjoyed Thunderbolts. It really sucks it’s not doing well in the box office because this movie really shows Marvel’s getting their flow back.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is one of the very few MCU movies I’ve only seen once. I guess I just overlooked that when I watched the movie. It really doesn’t make much sense how she just put together a whole Iron Man type suit as just like a random kid. This show seems extra pointless too, but I think Marvel is just putting it out since it was already finished. Given their minimal marketing, they’re probably just trying to make a little money off a project they made years ago. They would lose more money by not releasing it, so I’m not like upset with that decision, but nonetheless it’s still pretty pointless.

The Spider-Man movies haven’t disappointed, so I’m going to trust them with the Hulk casting. I hope they do something to change the Professor Hulk persona because I’m starting to get sick of it lol.

Thunderbolts was Marvel's return to form, all right. People were kinda expecting that from Brave New World, I think, but Thunderbolts is where it's at! I'm curious to see more of how the New Avengers will get on with The Avengers (or what's left of them lol) in Doomsday.

As for that post credits scene with the ship at the end, it could be a scene from F4 but I feel like it's more likely a scene from Doomsday. We'll see

Yeah- in retrospect, Brave New World wasn’t that great. Thunderbolts* does really look like Marvel getting their flow back. I am curious to see what the conflict will be between the two Avengers teams as well.

I agree that that scene could be included in Doomsday. It sort of reminds me of the Ragnarok credit scene when they first showed Thanos’ ship, which led directly into the beginning of Infinity War.
