Captain America: Brave New World Thoughts (SPOILERS)

I am pleasantly surprised. I was expecting something on par with Quantumania, but I definitely think it was better. I wouldn’t say it is great quality, but it is definitely enjoyable. I do feel like The Leader was a bit of a weak character, and Red Hulk came in too late, but it doesn’t hurt the film that much. I also feel like the ending to the Captain America vs Red Hulk fight was a little underwhelming, but I enjoyed the rest of it. The Red Hulk reveal honestly should have been kept out of the trailers. Nothing too crazy with the ominous post-credit scene either. I don’t really know what else to say about this movie since it was pretty standard. I would give it a 7.7/10.

Thunderbolts* & Fantastic Four Trailers

This February, we got a new trailer for both Thunderbolts* and The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The Thunderbolts* trailer added a little more to what we had gotten from the first trailer. Nothing too crazy, but it does give a pretty significant tease to Sentry’s appearance in the film, which is exciting. I am actually pretty stoked for Thunderbolts*. That trailer dropped during the Super Bowl. Fantastic Four dropped on the fourth of February, and we got a look at each of the characters. I am really excited by the design of The Thing. I think it’s the best design of the character we’ve seen in movie form. The only thing that threw me off a little was his voice. I thought it would be a little deeper given his size, but I’ll probably get used to it. I also like seeing the feel of the film. I really like the color schemes and set design and it already has me hooked. In this trailer we saw everyone’s powers except for Mr. Fantastic, but I’m okay with waiting for that reveal. Both of these trailers are really exciting and have me very optimistic for the rest of this year. Thunderbolts* will be in theaters on May 2 and The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be in theaters on July 25.

Spider-Man 4 Delayed!

You heard it right! Spider-Man 4 is DELAYED. Instead of releasing on July 24, 2026, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 will be in theaters on July 31, 2026. It was only delayed by 7 days for some reason.

DCU Updates

Set photo from Lanterns.

James Gunn made a few clarifications in regards to a few DCU projects this February. This is all the main stuff:

- Robert Pattinson’s Batman will NOT be in theaters DCU

- Shows like Waller and Booster Gold are moving slower (with possible potential of cancellation?)

- The Authority is moving slow and struggling to get a good script (same with Swamp Thing)

- The Teen Titans movie is making good progress (it seems)

- Peacemaker Season 2 is still on schedule

- The Dynamic Duo movie may possibly be a part of the DCU (previously announced as an Elseworlds film)

- DCU projects won’t feel like “homework” and will exist as independent projects (small references may be made in regards to other projects but nothing crucial to the storylines)

- The DCU will eventually culminate into an “Endgame” style project

These were all the main points. The DCU series, Lanterns, began filming on February 27 and will be streaming on Max in 2026. They also explained that movies like Clayface (releasing in theaters on September 11, 2026; will be directed by James Watkins), are only happening because they were given a very good script. They only green light projects that have good scripts which is also why not many DCU projects have been given release dates and seem to be moving on with production. They’re very focused on quality, which I respect.

Pauses & Cancellations in the MCU

Apparently, the MCU has put a pause on the production of three upcoming MCU Disney+ series: Nova, Strange Academy (a show about Wong teaching new sorcerers), and Terror, Inc (a horror show about a zombie-like guy named Terror). Not all of these shows had been officially announced before it was reported that they would be taking a pause. This seems to be happening as a result of Marvel Studios slowing down production to better the quality of their projects, and limit the quantity of projects released as well. This February, it was also announced that the long-talked-about Okoye series has been canceled.

The Punisher: Special Presentation

The Punisher will be getting his own Special Presentation after his appearance in Daredevil: Born Again. There have only ever been two Special Presentations, those being Werewolf By Night and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. There hasn’t so far been a clear indication as to when this will be releasing, but given Daredevil: Born Again will be releasing this month, there could be a chance that announcement could be coming soon. Daredevil: Born Again will begin streaming on Disney+ on March 4.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 also began filming on February 28.

What to Watch This March

Here’s each of the Marvel/DC projects releasing this month:

March 4 - Daredevil: Born Again [E1] (steaming: Disney+)

March 4 - Daredevil: Born Again [E2] (streaming: Disney+)

March 11 - Daredevil: Born Again [E3] (streaming: Disney+)

March 18 - Daredevil: Born Again [E4] (streaming: Disney+)

March 25 - Daredevil: Born Again [E5] (streaming: Disney+)

March 25 - Daredevil: Born Again [E6] (streaming: Disney+)

Thank You!

A 7 day delay? I think we can handle that 😅

I agree about Red Hulk staying out of the trailers. I would've enjoyed the reveal more. A lot of the movie was building up to that but it wasn't as suspenseful because we all saw the big scene in the trailer

Yeah it kinda made the ending a little more underwhelming. That buildup would have been way more satisfying had it been kept out of the marketing.

I liked Brave New World but it was definitely lacking in some areas. I totally agree that Red Hulk was introduced too late. It had some scenes that I really enjoyed, and I like that it followed a more grounded approach towards a Marvel Movie, rather than something so huge and intergalactic or whatever.

Overall, yeah I'd give it a 7/10 probably. Definitely better than some of the stuff I've seen in the past.

Yeah, the fact that it stayed grounded was definitely a redeemable quality. It was a nice breath of fresh air.

Thanks for checking out the blog, DukeOfArrakis!
