Superman Sequel?

James Gunn officially announced a Superman follow-up movie this month. This movie is Man of Tomorrow. James Gunn has made it sound like this movie is not a direct sequel to Superman, but just a follow-up to Superman's story. The teases for the movie so far have depicted Lex Luthor and Superman having to work together to fight a bigger threat. Thus, this movie seems like it intends to be a Lex Luthor-Superman team-up movie. It sounds very intriguing, and it interests me how it seems to be picking up right where Superman (2025) left off. The DCU's Man of Tomorrow will be releasing in theaters on July 9, 2027.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day Production

Production on Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been stopped because Tom Holland got a concussion due to a failed stunt on set. Although it may take a few days for him to recover, it does not seem like this will delay the movie's release date at all.

Tombstone Casting

The casting for the Spider-Man villain, Tombstone, has been announced publicly this month. Actor, Marvin Jones III will be playing the character in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. This announcement also obviously reveals to us that Tombstone will indeed play a role in the movie. It's cool to finally have a Spider-Man: Brand New Day casting announcement that also announces the role they're playing. I wonder if they will continue to reveal the roles of cast members as production moves along. Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be in theaters on July 31, 2026.

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse MOVED AGAIN??

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse was initially listed to release on March 29, 2024. When Sony couldn't finish the movie on time, they delayed it indefinitely until they finally landed on the June 4, 2027 release date. Since then, they've changed it to June 25, 2027, but this month they changed the release date once more. As of now, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is scheduled to release on June 18, 2027.

Daredevil Season 3

As we know, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is coming at us March 2026. But this September, it got confirmed that season 3 is officially in the works and will begin production in early 2026.

What to Watch This October?

Here's each of the Marvel/DC projects releasing this month:

Peacemaker: Season 2 [Episode 8] - October 2 (HBO Max)

Peacemaker: Season 2 [Episode 9] - October 9 (HBO Max)

Thank You!

Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this month's CQMB. Be sure to stay tuned for the next CQMB which will release on the first of November.

Yes, yes, it was moved up a week. I know I wrote out the different release dates but I probably should have specified that it was moved up lol

Not much news this month eh?

Yeah, hope Tom's doing better.

For Brand New Day they seem to be announcing a lot of random sort of unimportant characters (Tombstone, Scorpion etc.) So maybe it will be The Sinister Six? Not sure who Tramell Tillman is playing but maybe another villain? If that is the case I think it's pretty likely that the villain of the movie is The Sinister Six. If so, I wonder who the other 4 villains will be.

I wouldn't mind if Beyond the Spider-Verse gets pushed forward again lol :)

Also, I'm glad I finally read this on the first of the month this time... I'm always 2 weeks late usually.

I didn't think about that... I wonder if they are setting up some kind of Sinister Six. Although other than Scorpion and Tombstone I don't know who else they could use since a lot of the Spider-Man villains have already been used in the MCU.

But yeah, unfortunately there wasn't too much big news this month. It's always kind of a bummer trying to write about these moderately exciting things lol

Thanks for checking out my blog, DarthKnight!

They've still never done Spider-Man first villain in live-action form (the Chameleon). Not counting that random character in Far From Home.

They could also do Rhino (who's not been in the MCU but did make a cameo in TASM2).

And with Tombstone there is of course also Hammerhead.

There's also Hobgoblin (who is Ned Leeds in the comics, so that would be interesting if they did that).

Question: Just curious, but where do you get most of your information?

Yeah I guess they still do have a few options for Spider-Man villains for a Sinister Six, but I feel like maybe it wouldn’t be as hype if they use like lesser known characters.

I’m subscribed to different channels on YouTube that talk about this stuff. They usually make me aware of different news and then I’ll search it up and look into it myself to see if there’s more details. Some other things come straight from Marvel or DC when it comes to like trailers or movie/show announcements and stuff. But yeah, I’ll usually see something on YouTube and I’ll look at reports from like Variety News.

For Marvel/DC stuff on YouTube, I’m subscribed to Marvel Entertainment, DC, DoomBlazer, and 3C Films.

I’ll also sometimes see posts from like James Gunn and stuff too- that’s how I found out about Man of Tomorrow.
