Brand New Day Teases

At the very start of August, Sony revealed the Spider-Man suit for the upcoming film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. I like it a lot. A lot of fans seem way more passionately excited about it, but to me it’s just a suit. As long as it isn’t inherently bad, I’m cool with it. This suit reveal was released to also announce that the movie had began filming. Additionally, actor Michael Mando has been teasing his character Scorpion, who was introduced in the credits scene of Spider-Man: Homecoming. On his social media he posted Scorpion with the venom symbiote. Thus, many fans have speculated that the venom symbiote will be incorporated into the movie through Scorpion. I think this is very possible, since the symbiote is a big plot line in the Secret Wars comics. This could be their way of setting up Avengers: Secret Wars possibly. What are your thoughts on reveals/rumors? Spider-Man: Brand New Day releases in theaters on July 31, 2026.

Spider-Verse Spin-Offs

This August, Sony announced three upcoming spin-offs to the Spider-Verse franchise. They are reportedly developing the following films: Spider-Woman, Venom, and Spider-Punk. None of these movies have release dates yet. It sounds like none of the three movies will be releasing before Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse either. What do you think about these spin-offs? Do you think they’re unnecessary, or are you looking forward to them? I’m pretty indifferent about these announcements. I’m not crazy about the Spider-Verse movies like a lot of people are, but I’m still interested. Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will be in theaters on June 25, 2027.

Superman Saga

James Gunn has announced that he is working on a Superman Saga. I’m not totally sure what this entails, but it sounds like within the DCU, the Superman franchise will comprise of multiple Super-Family stories (not necessarily Superman sequels). It’s not super clear what this means, but I take it that the Supergirl movie will be somehow related to this saga. However, James Gunn did announce that he will be directing the next official installment to the Superman Saga. This Super-Family franchise still takes place within Chapter One: Gods and Monsters in the DCU, and Supergirl will be in theaters on June 26, 2026. What do you think about James Gunn’s plan with the Superman characters? It seems kind of different than traditional franchising, but I’m interested.

Doom for Doomsday

Apparently, two big-name actors have been fighting on the set of Avengers: Doomsday. I don’t think it has been confirmed whether or not it was a physical fight, but there’s evident tension. Things are so tense to the point that one of the actors requested to the crew that they do not have any scenes with the other actor. This seems like a pretty big deal. I don’t know if we’ll ever know who these two actors are, but it hasn’t been announced. There was a rumor going around for a while speculating the two actors were Ryan Reynolds and Robert Downey, Jr., but apparently this was debunked, so who knows. Do you have any speculation as to who might be at the center of this drama? Avengers: Doomsday will be in theaters on December 18, 2026.

I'm fine with the new Spider-Man costume but my favorite suit is still Andrew Garfield's. Sidenote: It's interesting to me that both DC and Marvel seem to being going backward in time with their costumes (Brand New Day, First Steps, Superman, Supergirl).

An animated Venom movie might be interesting. I'm not too sure about Spider Woman because she's sorta boring. Spider-Punk is just dumb. I think it'd be cool if they made a Spider-Ham movie and I think it'd probably do pretty well (with box office and fans).

RDJ seems like a pretty chill guy so I don't think it's him. Reynolds on the other hand seems like he definitely could be the one causing trouble. I'm not really sure who the other person would be but Reynolds is the type of person who can get under anybody's skin (at least it seems like that to me). Of course if they're specifically requesting not to share any scenes with them than it probably is someone is in a lot of the movie like Pedro Pascal or RDJ. Who knows?

Scorpion and Venom do have a bit of history in the comics so it'll be interesting if he's the main villain of the movie.

Just a thought: I don't think Tom Holland will be in Doomsday but he'll probably be in Secret Wars (it'd be really weird if he wasn't). If he was in Doomsday it'd probably just be a cameo at some point.

Another random thought: I wonder how long Doomsday and Secret Wars will be. They'll probably want to one-up Infinity War and Endgame so my guess is that Doomsday will be around 3 hours and Secret Wars will probably be like 3 and a half hours or something.

Im really curious about Doomsday. Im kind of skeptical about the movie to be honest, but I think it'll be cool.

And Im so excited for the new Spiderman content! The new Tom Holland movie will be amazing! And Spider Punk could be so cool!
