Message Board Recap - September 2024

On the 20th of September 2024 JetPunk released a new way for JetPunkers to communicate with each other, choosing to move away from Reddit an onsite Message Board was introduced.

In this debut blog for the series I will be showcasing some fun stats from the month of September, the first 11 days of the Message Board.

Making a thread is the way to start a conversation on the Message Board, as we see here the most active day for new threads was the 1st day of the Message Board, makes sense since everyone jumped to try out the new feature, with it also having the peak for new thread creators.

Threads per Day: 7.9 Threads

42 Unique JetPunkers started a thread in the month of September, or 3.8 new thread creators a day.

That makes the unique user to thread ratio 42:87 or roughly 1:2, meaning the average thread creator started 2 threads in September. But who started the most?

Likes, introduced a few days after the Message Boards creation are a way for users to show that they like a thread, due to them being implemented later on though the use of them was fairly limited on earlier threads and so the number of them for this month will most likely be far less than later ones.

Some Fun Facts I gathered along with the main stats:

There is a correct way to spell JetPunk! You either capitalize both the J and the P or neither. Some still haven't learnt this rule...

25 threads included the word JetPunk (or some variation on it) in either the title or the actual thread (we aren't counting comments here).

Of those:

• 22 spelt JetPunk correctly

• 2 spelt it incorrectly

• 1 spelt it both correctly and incorrectly in the same thread?

That means JetPunk is incorrectly spelt in 12% of September threads in which it's written. Do better!

A good number of threads include self-promotion but the number of threads to be mainly self-promo were: 7, or 8% of threads in September.

That should be all, I've been sitting on these stats for awhile so if any numbers are slightly off it's cause this data was collected ages ago. It should mostly be fine though since I doubt many people still check out September threads.


Even though this was just ⅓ of a month this was quite exhausting to make and while it's rewarding now and I would like to do this for other months, DO NOT expect any consistency to when they release. Hopefully October's comes before next October tho.
