What is the SCP Foundation?
The SCP Foundation is a web project started in 2008 that centers around an alternative world where there are anomalies, labeled as SCPs, that an organization, the SCP Foundation, attempts to contain. There are three main classes: Safe, easy to contain, Euclid, moderately difficult to contain, and Keter, very difficult to contain. SCPs can be people, creatures, objects, locations, diseases, and more. I will use the SCP Wikidot for significant data, as well as some YouTube channels.
Today's SCP: SCP-4434
SCP-4434 is a Euclid-class collection of connected anomalies, found south of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia.
SCP-4434-1 is a billboard, pictured below, that appears on random roads in the West Virginia - Virginia - Maryland tri-state area. They manifest temporarily, before demanifesting and appearing in a new location. The sign causes people to be compelled to go to a road, which is unnamed in the official file, but in YouTuber Dr. Bob's video on this anomaly, is called Wagriwa Road, which is the name we will use today. The sign has a background of trees on a winter day, On the top, it says the name Wagriwa Road. In the middle, the sign says "Get Away" repeatedly, and at the bottom it says "find what you are looking for." If you try to photograph it, it will appear as a blank billboard on the photograph.
When someone enters the SCP's area in West Virginia, marked by a sign saying "Wagriwa Road", they will likely see SCP-4434-2 emerging from the woods. This anomaly takes the form of someone who the person trusts, such as a loved one or a pet. The person cannot resist following this anomaly further into the woods, and any attempts to restrain the person will be stopped by SCP-4434-2.
They then enter a clearing, where SCP-4434-3 surrounds them. These creatures appear to be deer, but they have glowing eyes, and attack the victim. They are then dragged towards the final component of the anomaly, SCP-4434-4, a pit 8 meters across, whose bottom is made of flesh, mostly made up of anglerfish DNA.
History of this Anomaly
Richard Redkin was the previous owner of the land, and near the end of his daughter's life in 2008, she was interested in occult. A poem, discovered at the bottom of SCP-4434-4, likely written by her, says
The forest is a sea;the wind is the waves and the water is the leaves.
The streams become undercurrents, the birds become fish,
and coral finds its home as fungus, growths sprouting as I wish.
The ground is the shore, pulling me by the feet,
dragging me down and pulling me back
Back and forth on repeat.
I dove down past the light down where I couldn't breathe, and found nature looking for a fight.
Yes, the forest is a sea,
but l've made it barely big enough for me.
The forest is a sea,
so now something's bound to come eat.
This poem was written shortly before her death by drowning in the Shenandoah River. One week after her death, the first disappearance was reported.
Special Containment Procedures
Outpost-4434 is constructed nearby in order to monitor the area. The main goal of containment is to make sure no civilians enter the area.
