My Maps - Episode 2

MapTime

I made some maps in my previous blog, and I enjoyed it, so I am going to make some more. Enjoy!

1. African Religions

I made European religions, so now it is time for African religions as well! I will reuse some themes from the previous episode, but there will also be new ones. This one is mostly divided between Islam and Christianity.

2. European Countries by Age

Data from Wikipedia

This map shows how long the country has been independent. The Baltic States were formed by the Treaty of Versailles before they became Soviet, but Ukraine, Moldova, and Belarus were never independent before the dissolution, so they are differently grouped.

3. Asia: Life Expectancy Map

A return, except this time for Asia

Data from Wikipedia (UN, 2023)

4. Colonization of the Americas

This is kind of similar to my first map of the Americas, but there have been changes.

Source is Wikipedia.

5. USA

Time for a political map. This map will show if a state is Red or Blue, and I will score it like this. One point per party for each of the last four Presidential Elections won. One point per party for each senator they have in that state. One point for the current governor. One point for holding the majority in the US House of Representatives, for a maximum of eight points. The party with the most points wins that state. However, there is some with a complete tie of 4-4. I do not allow ties. Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Arizona are those states. Pennsylvania has had 2 Republican and 2 Democratic presidential wins, they have 1 Democratic and 1 Republican senator, they have a Democratic governor, and a Republican House majority. 4-4. Arizona has two democratic senators, a democratic governor and one democratic win in the last 4 elections. They have a Republican house majority and 3/4 of the last elections were won by Republicans. 4-4. Wisconsin has 1 Republican and 1 Democratic senator, a Democratic governor, the elections are split even, and there is a Republican house majority. 4-4. We need to break these ties. So, we are going to use the State Legislatures. Whichever party has a majority in the State Legislatures for those three, will win the state. Feast your eyes at the final result.
