Description: A puzzle quiz... we need more on JetPunk. The concept is simple: click only the squares being pointed at and avoid the rest. Despite the simplicity, I always miss squares, even when moving row by row. Easy but fun.

Notes: This is Stewart's second #1 hit of the year.

Description: It's the year's second Sudden Death, Multiple Choice quiz! Every row has exactly one correct answer. Larger populations are on top, and things get harder as the population gets smaller. Who knows the population of Jamaica? I do... not. I took the quiz again to make this blog, it was my 1st perfect score!

Notes: This is Quakehammer's FIFTH time beating the CotW quiz!

Description: Whammy! It's satisfying to just type a single letter and have the answer pop up. There are only so many ways to quiz people on flags... right? Right? Golly, maybe some of us will have to get the world's flags memorized. At least we get three lives! This is a fantastic use of the format, kudos!

Notes: This is Elboy's THIRD time getting the #1 quiz in 2025!

Description: Speed is the name of the game in this quiz! I love typing games, and this one is just 20 seconds of typing bliss. We need more typing games on JetPunk. Typing = fun. Not much else to say about this quiz: type 25 words in 20 seconds. That's just 75 words per minute.

Also, this quiz hasn't been updated since 2019, so a 6-year old quiz took #1 today!

Description: More speedrunning! There’s something satisfying about cracking out a quiz in a minute. Rapid recall is harder than it sounds, and mentally jumping around the map is tuff. Great fun!

Description: What a fantastic quiz. Again, great use of the Sudden Death format. I have no idea how Stewart can produce such a clean looking map on a Sudden Death grid. Just look at the action shot! I hope there are many more tiled-map Sudden Death quizzes to come.

Also, this quiz pulled in 27,307 takes... during summer. Many summer #1 quizzes don't even crack 15,000.

Description: This entry tilts a bit more towards legendary and ancient people, making it slightly trickier. Some of us waited until the very end only to pick Helen of Troy, even though she kinda feels fictitious. Anyway, it's a solid topic for a sudden death quiz, and I wouldn't be surprised if a few more of these could hit the leaderboards in 2026!

Also, this is the THIRD time a sequel has topped the charts this year (#2 in the series also took the top spot. #1 in the series, not quite.)

Description: Another LuckyCat entry! It's quite the year for this felicitous feline. Rather than seeing a bunch of countries in front of you (i.e., sudden death), you must recall countries with large areas and then consider whether there are larger countries!

Notes: This is LuckyCat's FOURTH #1 quiz this year!

Description: The strongest Sudden Death quizzes use a simple binary format: yes or no. Either the singer is American or not. Difficulty comes from lesser-known artists and accents that don’t carry through in song. A solid Sudden Death quiz to close out summer break in the U.S.

Notes: This is jack541's second time atop the JetPunk daily leaderboard!

Description: Ah, what a saucy quiz. I definitely get why this one topped the charts. It's because it's IMPOSSIBLE! I know the stats don't agree with that sentiment, but I could take this quiz a dozen times (and I might have) and never get all 45! It's a great way to learn the approximate locations of all these cities, though, and I found it quite... edifying. It's nice to see someone using the new map quiz format to its potential.

Description: A speedrun quiz with whammies? This is definitely going to maximize takes. I honestly cannot get a full score on this one... I have struggled to get over 50% of these correct. It's a great idea, and almost reminds me of flashcards. I could probably learn the shapes of all the countries of the world by just taking this quiz over and over, like flash cards! Anyway, it's a fun quiz!

Description: September was a little slow (only two quizzes before this hit #1!), but this is a blockbuster. It's the entire world map without borders! She's a beautiful quiz, and it was a great idea to keep the number of target countries low to prevent lag. It's quite easy to play and seasoned JetPunk players won't have too much issue with this one. Get a country name and go click on that country. Of course... this is just the introduction. There are, of course, sequels!

Description: I'm tempted to call this a sequel, but it doesn't quite count. In spirit, it's very similar to overtired's body parts sudden death quiz from earlier in the year. This one has some great distractor answers, and I was VERY tempted to click on a river in Europe even though I knew it was a river in Europe. Apparently 23% of quiz takers agree that this river in question sounds like a bone. Anyway, it's another great quiz with a straightforward concept.

Description: Wow, two #1 hits two days in a row. Aside from those two quizzes that stayed #1 two days in a row, this is the first time a user has been #1 two days in a row (and the first time with two different quizzes). Another visual flag quiz means striking visuals.

Notes: This is overtired's EIGHTH #1 hit of 2025, and his second in two days!

Description: How many Italian cities do you know? This quiz asks players to select 24 while avoiding cities from Ukraine, Libya, Russia, the Philippines, Brazil, and the United States. It’s trickier than it sounds. Sausalito is the most common landmine at 34%, and it got me. This feels like the start of a popular series.

Description: This could have been a difficult quiz, but JetPunker180 went easy. Most cities are located in the core of the Muslim world. My early attempts often fail due to immediately selecting Addis Ababa, a choice that eliminates roughly one-third of users.

Description: Hey, jack's back! And he's got 26 two-color flags with him. This seems like it's the year of flags... there's a whole schwack of flag quizzes leading the charge this year! This is a mental exercise, really, of mentally picturing the provided flags and determining if they're just bicolored. It's a straightforward and clean idea, the exact types of quizzes that top the charts.

Description: Oh lord, he’s back. Same idea as before: drag the pin onto the correct continent. Small countries like Eswatini, the Guineas, and The Gambia are near-instant deaths early on, though the quiz allows three lives. There are still some glitches where placing the pin in the wrong shaded water doesn’t always count as a death.

This is the FOURTH time a sequel quiz has topped the charts, and this is the third of this series to top the charts.

Description: Oh no, I have a serious illness related to a lack of knowledge about English, Welsh, Scottish, and Northern Irish cities! Call me a medical professional, get me a doktor! DoktorApplejuce prescribes a sudden death quiz of British cities! Again, clean, straightforward ideas tend to do well. It helps that it's quite hard for non-Brits, and I still have never aced it.

Notes: This is DoktorApplejuce's only featured quiz so far, but they have a whole series like this one! I linked to the series' page below.

Description: Holy, what do you even call this type of quiz? I guess you could call it sudden death, but it's got some seriously advanced CSS styles coding in there. And the end screen... I'm honestly not really sure how you put an ending screen on a sudden death quiz. It's utterly amazing. Add onto the technical aspects a puzzle! It's the second time we've seen what I'd call an actual puzzle top the charts this year, and it's a very welcome addition to JetPunk's regular programming.

Description: A fun quiz concept. Some sound like European cities, while others clearly are not. Near the end, blind guesses become necessary. At least there are three lives!

Notes: This is QuasarRasta's SEVENTH time beating the Countries of the World quiz.

Description: Another iteration of the borderless world map! Borderless maps are doing quite well this year! This one isn't too hard, but there are a couple small islands that are quite challenging... I'm looking at you Caribbean islands! Clicking on chonky landmasses between the tougher, smaller countries is pretty satisfying, though. Great stuff! Will we see #3 top the chart? I guess we'll see!

This is the fifth time a sequel topped the charts, as CtCoaBWM #1 also hit #1.

Description: What the heck? An entire month since a quiz beat the Countries of the World Quiz? Last year, of course, Sudden Death quizzes stormed out in November and constantly topped the charts. This year, November was the slowest month of the year for big hits. Anyway, we finally have a new quiz maker with the most taken quiz! This is short and sweet, with whammies! Just give the correct 7 letters and you win!

Description: After a full month with no toppers, two appeared back to back. This quiz resembles an earlier game-style quiz by... Elboy! Variety is welcome, and I appreciate the gamification. Overall, it was fun (but easier on mobile than desktop). More quizzes like this would be welcome!

Description: I cannot keep finding new things to say about sudden death flag quizzes! I don't even know my flags. :(

Anyway, it's a solid idea. For everyone who doesn't have some mild case of aphantasia, it's probably pretty easy to imagine all these flags and picture whether they have white or not. Great choices, many seem pretty tricky to me, but then I can't even get 3 stars on this quiz.

Description: This definitely has a different aesthetic to most other things on JetPunk... and not necessarily for the better. The colour can be a bit hard on the eyes, and you just reveal more of it as you eliminate more cities. Anyway, it's a basic European geography quiz that has the sudden death feature, so it seems pretty obvious that it'd do well (quizmaxxing?). It gets a little tricky towards the end, as more Eastern European countries enter the fold. Forty is a lot of cities, too.

Notes: This is Dimby's I dunno, seventh?, time topping the charts.

Description: Merry Christmas! Your gift is a third world click map quiz! This one featured multiple Caribbean islands, so that definitely made it a touch harder. I also noticed that the zoom-in does NOT include Trinidad, which threw me off a bit the first time I took this. Regardless, it's a great idea and I definitely see why Elboy scored 3 #1 hits with it!

There were 41 Sudden Death or functionally Sudden Death quizzes to top the charts in 2025! This is not super surprising, since failing the quiz right away will potentially get the same user to take the quiz three or four times instead of just once.

Sudden Death quizzes may seem to dominate JetPunk, but longer quizzes are still performing well. They generate lots of takes (#takesmaxxing), yet text quizzes by far remain the site’s biggest drivers overall. There’s also been a slight decline in complex SVGs, even as CSS styling continues to improve.

The biggest day saw an absurd 80,000 takes, and the Countries of the World Quiz nearly doubled its best day from last year. In total, 67 quizzes topped the leaderboard—more than twice last year’s number. And it wasn’t just Sudden Death: twenty non-Sudden Death quizzes beat Countries last year, compared to 26 this year. All signs point to continued growth. Here’s to an equally successful 2026.
