Introduction
Blogging on JetPunk
On JetPunk, a blog is an informational post about any topic, written by an author (blogger). A JetPunk user's blog is a collection of these blog posts, and can be found on the user's profile. For example, this is Quizmaster's blog.
The Recent User Blogs is a section on JetPunk where recently written blogs can be found. This section is a good place to learn something new or find out what is happening in the community.
In order to write blogs, you must be Level 40 on the site, and have been on JetPunk for at least 6 months.
Purpose of this Blog
The purpose of this blog is to inform users on what makes a good blog, what to avoid when writing blogs, and some unofficial rules to follow to keep yourself accepted and permissive in the blogging section.
I would like to give an honourable mention to my great friend, Iluvbread123, for a fantastic blog he did on how to write a good blog.
Blogs: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
These lists serve as a guide to the blogs which are usually accepted by the community. They are not complete lists.
The Good Blogs
These blog types would be accepted on JetPunk:
✔ Factual and Educational blogs - join the teaching and learning environment within JetPunk.
✔ Story blogs - release your imagination and create a fictional post or series for others to enjoy.
✔ Help blogs - need some help with something? Either ask on the Message Board or in Blogs.
✔ Puzzle blogs - help train the mind with blogs such as Stewart's Crack The Code.
✔ Milestone blogs - special achievements can be celebrated in blog form!
✔ Travel blogs - travelled somewhere nice? Create a travelogue like user cuotak.
✔ Badge blogs - unofficial badges which can be earned by fulfilling the blog's requirements.
✔ Unique blogs - unique blog ideas sometimes appear in the blogging section, such as baptistegorce's Interview of a JetPunker series and youtubeplayer's A Parody of the Blog.
A rule of thumb: if a blog tag exists for the type of blog you are looking to write, then it is widely accepted on JetPunk!
The Bad Blogs
These blog examples would not be accepted on JetPunk:
❌ "My quiz just got 100 takes!" - we like to honour achievements! However, blogs should be unique.
❌ "I just hurt my arm, I hope it is okay" - personal matters should stay out of the blog section.
❌ "I just reached 10 blogs" - celebrating the number of blogs in a separate blog is unnecessary.
❌ "My first blog" - first blogs should be unique and interesting.
❌ "My quiz is doing well" - blogs should be informative and interesting.
❌ "I'm Back" - perhaps include this at the end of another blog, rather than it having its own blog.
❌ "I'm leaving JetPunk", only to return a few days later. The blog has now lost its meaning.
❌ "Be my JetPunk friend" - this can be implemented into the end of a blog.
❌"[Person] is terrible for doing this" - directly insulting someone is unwelcome here.
The Ugly?
An "ugly" example of a blog would be this specially made blog by Iluvbread123.
This would usually be considered an "ugly" blog, due to:
- Lack of clear layout.
- The title is unclear.
- Incorrect use of formatted text, such as bold, underlined and italicised text.
- Spamming emojis and text to reach the minimum character limit (500 characters).
- Including personal matters in a blog.
- Blog has not been proofread.
Components of a Good Blog
This is a list of constituents of a good blog:
- Title - a title should be concise, clear and efficient to get your point across quickly.
- Thumbnail - a relevant thumbnail (image) provides the reader with good first impressions.
- Blurb - a good blurb gives a bit more information about the blog to the reader.
- Character limit - the ideal character limit is around 3,000 to 10,000 characters.
- Layout - relevant and simple headings and dividers help split your blog into readable sections.
- Grammar - correct spelling, punctuation and grammar helps convey the blog's purpose.
- Vocabulary - straightforward vocabulary allows the blog to be understood by readers.
- Topic - creating a blog with a unique topic makes it stand out in the blog section.
- Research - ensuring all blog content is factually accurate and up to date.
- Proofread - your blog should be revised before submitting to check for any mistakes.
Unofficial Rules of Blogging
These are rules you should follow when creating or interacting with blogs on JetPunk:
1) Be respectful to everyone.
2) Plagiarism is bad and punishable. Credit original authors and sources.
3) Accept criticism, as it helps your blog (and future blogs) to improve.
4) Do not delete comments unless it is necessary.
5) Do not block someone unless it is necessary, as this cannot be undone.
6) Prioritise quality of blogs over quantity of blogs.
7) Do not create blogs which are too short or too long.
8) Always ensure any content is factual and valid.
9) Use "Blog Components" such as dividers, headings and split view to arrange your blog better.
10) Keep comments relevant to the blog. Avoid any spam or meaningless comments.
Summary
To summarise the most important points:
1. Respect the JetPunk community. Make friends, not enemies. Use criticism for improvement.
2. Avoid any arguments, controversy and disruption.
3. Create good and unique blogs which will improve the blogging section.
4. Include the key components into blogs, such as thumbnails, dividers and headings.
5. Ensure content is authentic, up-to-date, factual and necessary.

Everyone: LIKE THE COMMENT, NOW!1!!!1!1!11!
That's why you're criticizing it, since your job is lowkey sad.
The only reason I was "criticising" it was because I needed an example. Also this blog was actually trying to be quite serious and informative.
Nah I love it
