Popularity Surge
I started writing this blog on the 8th of May, 2026. At the time I am writing this, there are almost 1.5 billion quiz takes on JetPunk. I remember there being a celebration back in August 2024 because JetPunk had just reached one billion takes. It hasn't even been two years, and the number of takes has already increased by 50%, whereas it took just under 16 years to reach one billion!
There are, of course, explanations for this. According to this blog, the first JetPunk quiz, "Countries of the World Quiz," was released in September 2008 (I was only a few weeks old at the time!). Since then, more and more quizzes are being released every day, which means more and more people are taking them. I began to wonder: by just how much is JetPunk's popularity increasing? This blog will provide statistics that will answer that question.
New User Quizzes Per Day
The chart below records the number of new user-created quizzes released every day on JetPunk from May 8th to 12th, 2026.
Total Takes Over Time
The chart below shows the total number of quiz takes on JetPunk from May 8 to May 12, 2026. The number was measured on each of these days at 8:00 PM EDT, which is 12:00 AM GMT the next day for comparison.
You can see the slope increase! That means more and more takes happen each day. The number of takes per day is constantly rising, according to this graph.
Countries of the World Quiz
The last stat reset was July 14, 2011. That means that before then, the quiz was only taken 2888 times. The quiz had existed for almost 3 years at that time, and in just under 15 years, it has gotten 47285531 takes. That's 99.994% of its takes being from that reset, which is only about five sixths of its life! Five sixths of 47288419 is about 39407016, so the quiz has about 8 million more takes than would have been expected if the number of takes per day remained constant.
Great Blog like always
The stats probably haven’t reset since 2011 when South Sudan became a country. The last update was probably for North Macedonia’s name change, which didn’t need a stat reset since the number of countries didn’t change.
Still, you're correct, JetPunk's takes are certainly increasing! This was nice to see
That being said, there is a long-term trend of growing popularity for JetPunk. But it happens on much longer timescales and there are also seasonal variations in traffic (more traffic in winter than in summer, for example).
I like the idea of the blog, but it seems to draw conclusions from ambiguous signals rather than clear evidence.
