JetPunk 2024 Blog Awards - Voting

Report this blog
There are many blogs that exist on JetPunk. Alot of them are really good! The blogs released in 2024 are no exception. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that 2024 was one of the best years for JetPunk blogs in terms of quality. So many great blogs were published this year, and I think it’s only right that we honour them in some way. And what better way to honour everyone’s hard work and passion than by forcing them to compete and find the one true best blog!
So, I had an idea. An
idea for a three part blog meant to celebrate the best blogs of the
year. The first part is to have
the blogging community nominate their favourite blogs (and blogmakers)
across 5 different categories. The second part (the blog you're reading right now) will have them vote on
the best blogs (and blogmakers) across each category from a selection
based on the results of the nominations. The final part will be the
announcement of which blogs (and blogmakers) received the most votes,
and earn the title 'Blog of the Year'. Or whatever.
That's the general gist of the idea. I'll explain the specifics of each part in their respective blogs, but hopefully this should give you an overview of what I plan to do here. Hopefully by the end of this we can really see the best of the blogging community!
Well, the nominations are in! Now we can begin phase 2 of the JetPunk Blog Awards: voting! While similar to the nominations phase, there are a few differences. In this part, you will be shown 6 blogs (or blogmakers) across 5 different categories. You will have to order them from 1 to 6, with 1 being your favourite and 6 being your least favourite. The winner will be decided using a ranked-choice voting system.
This blog is formatted similarly to the nominations blog, with a short description of each of the five categories and a link to the Google form where you can go vote. On the voting form, you must enter in your JetPunk username. Below that
you will see 6 dropdown menus, each labelled with a number from 1 to 6. Each dropdown contains the 6 nominees for the category, listed in alphabetical order (excluding 'the'). To rank the nominees, simply select the nominee
in the dropdown menu for the placement you would like to place it in.
For each category you will also see the 6 nominees with a link for you to go read them. MAKE SURE TO READ EVERY BLOG BEFORE CASTING YOUR VOTE! I can't strictly enforce this as a rule since there's no way for me to know which blogs you have and haven't read, but I would really appreciate it if you would give each blog a chance.
Best Story Blog
Basically what it says on the tin. The best blogs that tell a story: fictional, personal, or otherwise. This category is meant to recognize blogs that demonstrate exemplary storytelling techniques to immerse readers in an engaging narrative.
Best Informational Blog
An informational blog is a blog that takes a topic and discusses facts on it. Its main purpose is to inform the reader, so a good blog in this category would be well-researched and factual. This category recognizes blogs that have done a stellar job at educating other users on a particular topic.

Best Blog Author
Behind every blog - good, bad, or mediocre - is a real-life person typing out every word. This category recognizes users based on the contributions they made to the RUB during the year of 2024.
Best Overall Blog
Should be pretty straightforward. This category isn’t judging blogs based on one particular quality, but rather the quality of the blog as a whole. Any blog can be nominated for this category, so it's a truly prestigious award.

The deadline for voting is March 1st (AKA the next Saturday after this post goes live). After that I'll tally up the scores, and the actual awards blog should be released sometime soon after. Ideally it should be out within 1-2 weeks, depending on how things go.
That should be everything. Again, if you have any questions, let me know in the comments below. Hopefully we see more people voting than there were nominations. Though, the number of people who nominated was actually alot higher than I thought it was going to be, so maybe I'm expecting a little much. I expected only 1-2 people nominating per category, maybe 3. However, nearly every category had at least 5 nominations! I extend a very big and sincere "thank you," to everyone who nominated. And to everyone who didn't nominate, I extend a very sincere "VOTENOWVOTENOWVOTENOWVOTENOW"
That's all from me for now. Thanks for reading!

One of the blogs you have labeled as mine was actually made by Fifi, the world peace one.
Time to vote!
Let's vote, I suppose. And good luck to all the nominees.
But I think there should be one or two more categories like Best sports blog or best geography blogs.
Anyway I have casted my votes. Let's wait for results.
but your blogs are awesome
Also I do have to say my name has a lowercase N in the informational blog section. It has to be either KiloNova or kilonova.
I'm biting my nails at the suspense...who is everyone voting for😬
