JetPunk 2025 Blog Awards - Voting

There were alot of blogs posted to JetPunk this year. In fact, there were 782 blogs posted in total, which is about 250 more than last year. Alot of them were really good! I think it’s only right that we honour them in some way. And what better way to honour everyone’s hard work and passion than by forcing them to compete and find the one true best blog!

So, last year I had an idea. An idea for an 3 part blog meant to celebrate the best blogs of the year. This would come to be known as the critically-acclaimed, highly prestigious, box-office bomb: The JetPunk Blog Awards! It was alot of fun and people seemed to like it, so it is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that I get to announce that the 2nd annual JetPunk Blog Awards is now underway!

For those who weren't with us last year, the JetPunk Blog Awards is an event hosted by yours truly where JetPunk users (like yourself!) get to vote on the best blogs of the year in various categories. The event is split into three blogs: the first part is for users to nominate what they feel are the best blogs in a variety of categories. The second part (AKA the blog you're reading right now) is where users will vote on blogs from a curated selection based on the results of the nominations. The third and final part is where the winners of each category will be announced and crowned as the Blogs of the Year! Or whatever.

Well, the nominations are in and I've finally finished tallying them up. Now we can begin the voting phase of the awards! It follows the same general format as the nominations phase, but with a few differences. For each category, there will be a form where you will rank each of the six nominees in order from 1 (best) to 6 (worst). Nominees will be given out points depending on where you rank them, and the nominee with the most points will be deemed the winner of the category. In the event of a tie, the winner will be decided by who has the most first place votes, then second place, and so on.

For each category you will see a brief description and the 6 nominees. Clicking the name of a nominee will direct you to the blog for you to go read them. PLEASE READ EVERY BLOG IN A CATEGORY BEFORE VOTING! I can't strictly enforce this as a rule since there's no way for me to know which blogs you have and haven't read, but I would really appreciate it if you would at least give each blog a chance.

This category recognizes blogs that intend to educate or inform the reader on a specific subject. Good blogs in this category are typically well researched and are able to clearly communicate the information to the reader.

This is a category recognizes blogs that tell a story, whether it be pure fiction or a personal story. Good blogs would require the same qualities as any good story.

This category recognizes blogs that are either a review of something or a ranking of items within a certain category. Good blogs in this category should explain the author's opinions of the item(s) in a concise and entertaining manner.

This category recognizes blogs taking the form of an essay or opinion piece. Good blogs in this category should provide an analysis on a topic and explain the author's interpretation succinctly, while also inviting the reader to engage and think about the topics discussed.

Previously known as the "Best Creative Blog", this category recognizes blogs in a league of their own with unique ideas that don't really fit into any other category (or are just plain weird).

Images can be utilized in many ways in blogs. They can be used as a visual aid for the main topic of the blog, or they can be the main focus itself. This category recognizes user blogs that use images to enhance the content of their blogs in ways that text alone couldn't convey.

This category recognizes blogs with unique, creative and interesting formatting. This can be achieved through simple text formatting or the various elements provided by JetPunk for formatting. Good formatting should be easily legible, organize the text, and help pace the content of the blog.

This category recognizes users for the blog(s) they made throughout the year.

By far the simplest category. This is just about the best blogs of the year with no specific criteria beyond that. Blog of the Year, baby!

The deadline for voting is June 12th (AKA one week after this blog goes live). After that I'll count up the votes and the final part should be released soon after. Ideally it should be out within 1-2 weeks, depending on how things go. It definitely won't take as long as this one took, that's for certain. With any luck, before the week of June 22nd. Not for any particular reason.
