There were alot of blogs posted to JetPunk this year. In fact, there were 781 blogs posted in total, which is about 250 more than last year. Alot of them were really good! I think it’s only right that we honour them in some way. And what better way to honour everyone’s hard work and passion than by forcing them to compete and find the one true best blog!
So, last year I had an idea. An idea for an 3 part blog meant to celebrate the best blogs of the year. This would come to be known as the critically-acclaimed, highly prestigious, box-office bomb: The JetPunk Blog Awards! It was alot of fun and people seemed to like it, so it is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that I get to announce that the 2nd annual JetPunk Blog Awards is now underway!
For those who weren't with us last year, the JetPunk Blog Awards is an event hosted by yours truly where JetPunk users (like yourself!) get to vote on the best blogs of the year in various categories. The event is split into three blogs: the first part (AKA the blog you're reading right now) is for users to nominate what they feel are the best blogs in a variety of categories. The second part is where users will vote on blogs from a curated selection based on the results of the nominations. The third and final part is where the winners of each category will be announced and crowned as the Blogs of the Year! Or whatever.
As I just mentioned, this first part is the nominations. You will have the opportunity to nominate 1 to 10 blogs (or users!) across 9 different categories, each representing a different facet of JetPunk blog creation. For each nomination, you are also able to submit an optional justification of why that blog deserves the award. Blogs eligible for nomination include any blog released between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025 that is not unlisted, privated, or deleted (basically any public blog you can still read right now that was published in 2025).
Below you will see the names and descriptions of each category. For each category there will be a Google Forms link where you will submit your nominations. The first page of each form will have a spot for you to enter your JetPunk username. After that, there will be ten more pages for you to nominate up to 10 blogs, though it is not necessary to nominate 10 exactly. Each page will have a spot for you to enter the URL of the blog you're nominating, as well as an optional open answer spot available for you to justify your nomination. Justifications can be important, as a well-written one may make me choose a blog with few nominations over another blog with more nominations.
Note that, although some categories have official tags, it is not necessary for a blog to be in said tag for it to be nominated in a category. Just pick what you think fits the criteria best! I also ask that you try to avoid nominating yourself. While self-nominations are allowed, there should generally be more nominations for other people than for yourself.
Without any further ado, let's get to the categories!
Best Informational Blog
This is a category for blogs that intend to educate or inform the reader on a specific subject. Good blogs in this category are typically well researched and are able to clearly communicate the information to the reader.
Examples include...
Best Story Blogs
Pretty self-explanatory. This is a category for blogs that tell a story, whether it be pure fiction or a personal story. Good blogs would require the same qualities as any good story.
Examples include...
Best Ranking or Review Blog
Our first new category! This category is for any blog that is a review of something or is a ranking of items within a certain category. Good blogs in this category should explain the author's opinions of the item(s) in a concise manner.
Examples include...
Best Essay or Opinion Blog
Another new category, this time for blogs taking the form of an essay or opinion piece. Good blogs in this category should provide an analysis on a topic and explain the author's interpretation succinctly, while also inviting the reader to engage and think about the topics discussed.
Examples include...
Best Unique Blog
Those of you who participated in last year's blog awards may remember this category as "Best Creative Blog". This category is for blogs that are in a league of their own with unique ideas that don't really fit into any other category (or are just plain weird).
Examples include...
Best Use of Images
Images can be utlizied in many ways in blogs. They can be used as a visual aid for the main topic of the blog, or they can be the main focus itself. This category acknowledges user blogs that use images to enhance the content of their blogs in ways that text alone couldn't convey.
Examples include...
Best Blog Formatting
This category recognizes blogs with unique, creative and interesting formatting. This can be achieved through simple text formatting (spaces, bold/italic/underlined text) as well as the various elements provided by JetPunk specifically to format blogs (dividers, split view, HTML). Good formatting should be easily legible, organize the text, and help pace the content of the blog.
Examples include...
Best Blog Author
This category recognizes users for the blog(s) they made throughout the year. A user doesn't necessarily need to have created alot of blogs to be nominated in this category - heck, they can be nominated even if they've only made one blog - though in general the ability to consistently make high-quality, interesting blogs is indicative of a good author.
Blog of the Year
By far the simplest category. This is just about the best blogs of the year with no specific criteria beyond that. Blog of the Year, baby!
Here's the Google Sheet containing the links to all blogs published in 2025 in the order they were released, which should hopefully make finding blogs you may have forgotten about a little easier. I've also included additional information, such as the number of likes a blog received as well as different categories for blogs, which may help you to sort and filter for the best ones.
Some oddities you may notice about the sheet:
- Blogs that have been deleted are included (RIP Astana and Tayger), I personally don't care to get rid of them both because it's good keeping them around from a historical perspective, but also because I'm lazy (lol).
- Not every category listed in the sheet has an accompanying category in the awards proper. That's more for my personal use to track what types of blogs are popular and may be potential categories in future blog awards. That said I did try to include at least one of the official categories on the sheet based on what I think is most appropriate.
- Not every blog has information regarding likes or categories available, this is because I fill this information in as I read the blogs and I just haven't read every blog yet.
"When are the nominations due?" you may be asking. The deadline will either be March 28th, or whenever I finish reading all the blogs, whichever happens later (most likely the latter scenario). Should I take longer than two weeks to finish reading the blogs, then I'll post an announcement on this blog to let people know the deadline's been extended.
One last thing to keep in mind is that you're able to edit your responses even after you've submitted, so don't feel like you have to hold off on submitting until you're certain that your list is 100% accurate. This does require you to be signed in to a Google account to save your progress and take the form, but this information is not shared with me.
That should be everything. If you have any questions about anything then let me know in the comments below. Nominations were a huge help in deciding the candidates for last year's awards, so even if you only end up nominating one blog that still means alot to me. Whether you nominate or not, I will see you all in the voting part!
That's all from me for now. Happy nominating!

Excited to drop my votes!
It seems I have some blogs to check out!
I'll have to check some more blogs to be able to vote, but that's a great opportunity to look back at last year's hidden gems.
Ultimately there are two many question marks with a series category. In lieu of a dedicated category, last year I picked one blog from a series (typically the first in the series, or whichever was my favourite) and used that sort of as a stand-in for a series, which I felt was a decent (and simple!) alternative.
Also uhh I think I might not've mentioned this but I will be reading every single blog, so even if nobody nominates a blog it still has a chance to end up in the voting phase. So I'm not super worried about a blog getting snubbed like that.
