The Dream
Ever since I was like twelve, I have wanted to see every country on the planet. I have started chasing that dream, however slowly. I have been to 15 countries so far, with seven of them being visited in the last year (USA, South Korea, Japan, Netherlands, Germany, France and the UK if you were wondering).
I've always wanted to start blogging on here, but I've never known what to do. So I'm going to start documenting my travels on here.
The trip so far; Amsterdam
I flew into Amsterdam on May 18th, and spent three nights there. It was really pleasant. I enjoyed the calm (not sleepy) vibe and wonderful people. If people want, I can do city reviews on here later. I did the tourist thing in Amsterdam and went south to see the windmills and the beautiful Dutch countryside. I saw the Anne Frank house and the Royal Palace. Yeah, it was fun, but I wish I'd have tried living more like a local.
Germany
I LOVE Germany.
My grandma was born there, but this was my first time going. I took the train to Frankfurt in from Amsterdam. Honestly, I would skip Frankfurt. It wasn't calm like Amsterdam, it was more sleepy, I'd say. Sure, the Rhine is beautiful but it also snakes all across the country. I spent 2 nights in Frankfurt.
I accidentally took the wrong train to Berlin. Yes, I was going to Berlin. Yes, I still got on the wrong train. Oops.
I stayed in Mitte, basically the best neighborhood you could've stayed in in Berlin. Within a 30 minute walk, I could see the Berlin Wall, Brandenburg Gate, TV Tower, and everything you come to see in Berlin. When I wasn't walking my legs off and enjoying the beautiful German capital, I was eating wurst.
Currywurst, bratwurst, every kind of wurst. It was the best. I don't think I touched a single vegetable in the whole of Germany. I ate that much wurst.
I think Berlin is one of my favorite cities I have ever been to. Would I go back? Absolutely.
I took the train to Munich just so I could see a concentration camp. I went to Dachau.
What a horrible place. There are no words that can describe walking through a place of hell like that. The screams and tortures of hundreds of thousands of people can still be felt walking through that prison. I hope I never forget it.
I stayed in Munich that night and left the next morning.
Freiburg is a little town in the Black Forest. Nice, peaceful little place. Not really much to say, but it was nice to just have a chill stop where I could swim in Lake Titisee (yes, really) and eat more wurst.
lol
Right now?
