Strange Google Search Results

+8

While researching for a quiz I looked up the 1970 song "In the Summertime".  According to Google it was recorded by Mango Terry.  Hey Google!  Where did you come up with that?  Don't you mean Mungo Jerry?!  Is this Google's spell check gone crazy?  Could it be the old mapmaker's ploy to catch plagiarists?  Cartographers used to add non-existent roads or villages to maps and when they appeared on other maps they would have proof of copyright infringements.

Another search also gave the 1970s duo of Seals & Dash instead of Seals & Crofts.  This one I can understand as their names are Jim Seals & Dash Crofts.  Nevertheless,  caution should be taken when using Google as a source.

I was searching up cars first made in the 1980s for a quiz on Google. One of the cars was a Ford Mustang. Not only was that wrong because the Mustang was first created in the mid 1960s, a full decade and a half off, but when I clicked on it to get more information, it decided to give me a picture labeled Ford Mustang but show a picture of a 1989 Pontiac Firebird Turbo Trans Am. I know they were both Pony Cars, but that is just ridiculous because Pontiac and Ford were rivals. That is the worst thing Google has done to me!
