The Great JetPunk Debate(s) - Sign Ups

Exit reality and enter your imagination: you're in history class. Taking notes about old people from the 15th century who were probably ***holes.

Then, you happen to think about JetPunk. Your mind wanders about the random things in the JetPunk dropdown menus, then to blogs...an idea sparks into your mind. Come on, who doesn't love debate?

Ok, enough of the backstory, I'll cut to the rope. Or the cake. Or the movie scene? I'm not sure.

Basically, I'm looking to start a JetPunk Debate series, where JetPunkers (lucky you!) will debate on various topics related to JetPunk. Depending on the topic and the amount of people interested, there could be several people on each team, or just a few. Here's the basic overview of how it'll work:

- The affirmative side will start with their 1st argument, then the negative side will come after.

- The affirmative side will start their 2nd argument, then the negative side will come after.

- After the arguments are locked in, I will share the main points of the opposing sides' FIRST argument (not the second), which will give the opposing side some detail they need, but not the entire picture. Use this to your advantage!

- The teams will create their rebuttals and share them with me. The teams will not be allowed to use anything other than their rebuttals, but they will be allowed to use their rebuttals in any way they like.

- The teams will all be thrown into one chat, share their arguments, and then battle it out with their rebuttals.

This sounds a bit complicated now, but trust me, it will make more sense if you participate!

Then, the judges will decide who won the debate.

The judges will be, yours truly, you!

After I post the arguments in a blog, I'll link a form to decide the winner (if you were to decide in a form like this, please be fair and judge based of whose argument was better, not your personal opinion).

Whoever wins over the most JetPunkers will receive points!

The goal is to convince the AUDIENCE, not me (though, that will be a bonus). Win over the readers however you please (as long as it is not rude, discriminatory, or harassing the opposing side). A funny and strong argument is more likely to get voted instead and boring, professional one.

If you would like to be a part of this series, of course, you have to contribute. Alas, you have a life. The deadline for writing will likely be 2 weeks, giving you plenty of time to lock in. I'll give more details once it's started.
